Bayview CottageGuest Rating
We dare to say that guests staying at Bayview Cottage will find very little left to wish for! Not only is it in a heavenly situation in the tiny hamlet of Annat on the shores of Upper Loch Torridon, surrounded by the spectacular mountains of this most famous of Scottish climbing and walking destinations, but the house itself is immaculately presented, with every modern comfort.

Just across the road from the loch, it stands in its own enclosed garden from where you can walk straight out on to the hill behind.
Inside it is all a delightful mixture of good taste and charm. The chic modern kitchen has all appliances, as well as some decorative features to make you smile. There is a separate dining room with wood-burning stove and a beautifully furnished and cosy sitting room, also with wood-burning stove. Downstairs there is also an excellent wet room-shower.
Upstairs are three bedrooms, all most elegantly furnished and with breath-taking views and a superb and spacious bathroom with separate shower. Double glazing and oil central heating ensure its cosiness. Nothing left to wish for indeed, in fact, we are fast running out of superlatives to describe this very special house.
Walkers, climbers and lovers of wildlife will find themselves in heaven here, but there is also plenty in this area to attract those with other interests. You are very conveniently situated both to explore the fabulous Applecross peninsula - maybe going in via the coast road past Shieldaig and coming out again over the amazing Bealach na Ba (the Pass of the Cattle) - surely one of the most dramatic roads in the whole of the UK.
At Applecross Village you are spoiled for choice between the Applecross Inn and the Walled Garden Restaurant in the gardens of Applecross House. Why not just make two trips so you can sample them both? The scenery and beaches there make this a very tempting prospect.
Boat trips go out from Shieldaig (6m away, with pub and shop), where you can see sea eagles nesting on an island in the bay, to Rhona and the Shandt islands and further south you will reach Lochcarron (all facilities and golf course) and you can continue down the picturesque village of Plockton or even, via Kyle of Lochalsh, for a day on Skye.
In the other direction you can head back along Loch Torridon to Kinlochewe (hotel and shop) and the Beinn Eighe Nature Reserve and on up Loch Maree to Gairloch (all facilities, golf course and boat trips) and the world famous gardens at Poolewe. Or make a detour to Badachro, on a scenic bay famous as a sailing centre and where there is another excellent hostelry.
Nearer to the cottage, there is an inn within a 10 minute walk which serves fine ales and good food and the nearest shop is 2 miles away at Torridon. So much to do, so much to see and such an amazingly comfortable cottage - you'll just have to come back again, and again, and again.....
