Brybeg is in Torridon - that unique wilderness area in Wester Ross which has some of the most spectacular mountains and beautiful scenery in Scotland - a mecca for walkers, climbers, geologists and nature-lovers. It stands in the foothills of Ben Alligin (3,200ft), encircled by pines and birches where deer browse nearly every night, at the end of a private track 200 yards from the Torridon/Diabaig road, with the Abhain Alligin Burn rushing past 50 yards away and the village of Torridon (shop,PO,hotel) just 5 miles.
The timbered house has been double-glazed and modernised into a comfortable old-fashioned 'retreat' and it has good heating to give it a lovely cosy feeling in cold weather. Visitors really should take the drive along the south of Loch Torridon to the delightful village of Applecross (good pub for lunch) and return over The Pass of the Cattle - Britain's highest road at 2,000ft. and visit the famous National Trust Gardens at Inverewe - especially as you will drive through Beinn Eighe Nature Reserve and along Loch Maree to get there - while for those who want to forget the car, there are outstanding walks easy or testing, which you can take up, or along the foot of, some of Scotland's mightiest mountains.
Heating is by oil central heating (INCLUDED), open-fire and wood-burning stove. Bed-linen and towels are available for hire. Pets are welcome by arrangement.
