Perth and Kinross is a beautiful region of Scotland with a diverse landscape of mountains, lochs, rivers, woodlands, barren moors, fertile farmland and the river plains around Perth. Perth, known as the gateway to the Highlands, straddles the River Tay before it widens out into the Firth of Tay. It is an ancient town, having been inhabited by Romans, Picts and Celtic missionaries. The wooded hills and valleys north of Perth provide a stunning setting for small towns and villages, such as Crieff, Dunkeld and Aberfeldy. Further north, towns such as Pitlochry and Blair Atholl are set in awesome barren mountains and moors.
Kinross lies about 15 miles south of Perth near the M90 beside Loch Leven, a National Nature Reserve, and the 14th century Loch Leven Castle is where Mary Queen of Scots was held prisoner.
Perthshire & Kinross offers an abundance of leisure activities - salmon fishing, walking, climbing and watersports on the lochs - and places of historical interest to explore. Thus this area can provide a varied holiday for visitors - set against the backdrop of magnificent and tranquil scenery.

A well-executed and very comfortable conversion of an old stone farm building, Dornock Bothy has a wonderfully peaceful location far from traffic yet only a couple of miles from the attractive Perthshire town of Crieff. It is thus a most convenient and central base for exploring in all directions, with plenty of local attractions to enjoy as well.

The perfect romantic retreat, Meadowbank occupies a wonderful position high on a hill above the valley of the Tay, not far from the pretty little town of Dunkeld. Cosy and sublimely comfortable, it is a real picture-book cottage in which to relax and enjoy the many attractions of this beautiful region.

Fonab Cottage, named for the hill seen from its windows, is a charming end terrace cottage at the end of a little lane in the pretty and popular tourist town of Pitlochry in Highland Perthshire. Quietly situated, with no passing traffic, yet within a couple of minutes' walk of shops and restaurants, it makes a cosy and comfortable holiday retreat.
