Accessed along a track, Enrick Farmhouse is set on a pretty hillside above the River Enrick. Standing on the prominent half-acre site of the original farmhouse, the spacious cottage is perfect for families with children and those with pets, just two miles from the nearest village, Drumnadrochit, close to the shores of Loch Ness.

Neighbouring an attractive steading and bothy, Enrick Farmhouse has been converted from two farm cottages that originally sat on the former Polmaily Farm. The house has been refurbished into a substantial home with modern comforts and spacious communal areas to relax in. Slate flooring, beamed ceilings and stripped-latch doors have all been retained and act as stylish reminders of the cottage's original form.
The combined kitchen and dining room is spacious and great for serving a fry up in the morning or cooking a hearty evening meal after adventures in the Highlands. Make your way through to the sitting room area, nestle in with a book from the shelf and stay cosy in front of the central wood-burning stove.
A WC is located downstairs, while upstairs, a family bathroom serves guests. A double bedroom, a twin room and a single bedroom are also found upstairs. The large dormer windows of the double bedroom showcase the birch woodlands, which change colours and are carpeted with primroses and foxgloves in appropriate seasons. Outside, the private and secluded garden is visited by a host of birds and roe deer, red squirrels, badgers and pine martens.
Enrick Farmhouse is found among idyllic Highland countryside just two miles outside its nearest village, Drumnadrochit, which borders Loch Ness and is the home of the Loch Ness Visitor Centre, Loch Ness viewpoint and Urquhart Castle. Spot Nessie from a cruise around the loch, passed the ruins of Urquhart Castle, and learn more about the history of the world’s most famous loch.
The local amenities of Drumnadrochit are accessible and include a shop, post office and hotel. The Ness Deli and Cafe is a great spot to fuel up after your adventures around the loch. Visit nearby Drumbuie Farm to meet the resident Highland coos or sit down for afternoon tea with them at Quila Cridhe tearoom. For finer dining, the Michelin star restaurant, Station Road Restaurant is 21 miles down the road in Fort Augustus and well worth the trip.
E-bikes are for hire at the Loch Ness hub and travel. Take brilliant local cycling routes or try your hand at fishing on the loch. Bask in nature and stroll through stunning oakwoods to the magnificent Divach Falls. Enrick Farmhouse is just half an hour's drive south-west down the side of the Caledonian Canal (boats for hire) and from the city of Inverness (supermarkets, shops, theatre and sporting facilities). The cottage is also an hour from the famous West Coast resort of Fort William.
There is easy access to the Road to the Isles and Mallaig (car ferry to Skye), to Plockton and the bridge to Skye; to points further north, such as Torridon and the Moray Coast and the Black Isle. All make this ideal for car-touring as well as walking, climbing, riding, golf, fishing and skiing in season, being around a 50-minute drive from both Aviemore in the Cairngorms and Aonach Mhor in the Nevis range.
