The county town of Nairn is located some 16 miles east of Inverness and has been a popular seaside holiday destination since Victorian times. Visitors are attracted by its famously sunny climate and its lovely beaches. The fact that it is well known for its two championship golf courses, with another 40 courses within a 60 miles radius, doesn’t do it any harm either!
Inland from the town, there is some lovely wooded countryside and the nearby river Findhorn is well known for its fishing and kayaking. Attractions such as the battlefield of Culloden, Cawdor Castle, Elgin Cathedral, the Whisky Trail, the Cairngorm Mountain Railway and Loch Ness are all within an hour’s drive.
