Burnmouth, near Eyemouth
Seaside cottages don't come any more 'seaside' than this! Right on the seafront in the little Borders village of Burnmouth near Berwick, Sea Cottage is a delightful, traditional, semi-detached cottage which the owners have taken great delight and pride in refurbishing to make a most comfortable holiday home.
It has its very own garden seat across the tiny access road on which it stands and which is all that separates it from the foreshore. Behind is a hillside garden with various decking areas set in terraces (with furniture) where guests can look over the top of the cottage to the seascape beyond.
Inside, it is just as you would expect in terms of cosiness and comfort. The stylish sitting room has an open fire and the dining kitchen has an electric stove. Upstairs are two good bedrooms and a bathroom. The views from all the windows are quite breathtaking!
For a family seaside holiday the cottage can hardly be bettered. There is an inn up the hill in the main village and Eyemouth (3m, golf course) and Berwick (6m) have all the facilities you would hope for. There is a wonderful beach at nearby Coldingham, while local picturesque village St Abbs is a diving centre that is famous for its seabird colonies on the cliffs.
Inland, you can explore the stately homes, keeps and castles of the historic Border country both north and south of the Border itself, walk, cycle, ride, fish - the list is endless. It will, however, be very hard to tear yourself away from the charm and comfort of Sea Cottage.

Bed linen and towels are INCLUDED. The first £15 of electricity INCLUDED with any additional usage payable by meter reading at the end of your stay. Heating is by electric storage heaters and wood burning stove (first hod of coal INCLUDED). A maximum of 2 dogs are welcome at an additional charge (2 large, 2 medium or 2 small).
