This is the most exquisite of holiday homes that has been converted with great flair and imagination from an old steading.

It stands behind the owner's house in a peaceful location in the rolling hills of north Fife, exactly halfway between Perth and St Andrews (both 16 miles).
The quality of the accommodation here is second-to-none. On the ground floor there is a wonderful double-height sitting room with a gallery above. There is also a piano and comfortable seating around the cosy wood-burning stove.
The spacious and very well-equipped kitchen diner has plenty of room for both cooking and dining, meaning that the cook doesn’t have to miss out on all the fun. Also on this level is a bright and light twin bedroom with an en suite bathroom and beds that can convert into a super king-sized bed.
Upstairs, beside the gallery, is a double bedroom, again with excellent en suite facilities of bath and separate shower. From the upstairs windows there are superb views across the surrounding countryside.
The steading forms two sides of a secluded walled courtyard (with furniture and BBQ). Guests will have this for their own exclusive use for parking and enjoying al fresco meals and evening drinks.
Much of the cottage's electricity is generated by photo-voltaic panels, so you can be 'green' as well as being comfortable!
Video Walkthrough
There is the best of accommodation here and the best of locations too, for Fife is famous not just for its golf but also for its delightful coastline of sleepy fishing villages, glorious beaches and its tranquil and beautiful countryside, that is ideal for walking, birdwatching and cycling.
The pretty Georgian market town of Cupar (7 miles) provides all facilities and has lots of interesting shops and eating places. Nearby historic properties include Falkland Palace, the country residence of Stuart Kings and Queens and the stunning house and gardens of Lorimer's Hill of Tarvit.
Wildlife enthusiasts might spot seals or sea eagles at Tentsmuir Nature Reserve. The Fife Core path and Coastal path are both easily accessible and there is loch fishing at nearby Lindores and golf absolutely everywhere. As well as the legendary Old Course and 6 further courses at St Andrews, there are many excellent courses nearby. Further afield, the famous Open course at Carnoustie and Ryder Cup 2014 venue Gleneagles are each about 45 minutes away by car.
Easy access to the M90 and rail network means that you can be in Edinburgh, the Angus Glens or the Highlands within an hour, making this the perfect place from which to explore. Glasgow, the west coast, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs are also quite feasible for day trips.
