Very helpful and friendly staff at times when I have spoken to them by phone. Email communications are clear and helpful. A slight problem is, however, worth mentioning. When I was making the initial booking for this holiday the screen froze when I was attempting to pay the deposit. It later transpired that in trying to resolve the problem I ended up paying the deposit twice. The matter was resolved though a telephone call to UC. I'm not sure whether there was a glitch on the UC system or whether poor broadband at our home was the cause of the problem.
I searched for a cottage with three bedrooms and was given a price, then was told that there was a two tier booking system and I would have to pay another £150 on top of what I had already paid. They contacted the owner who said we could have it for the original price.
Booking OK. Details and paperwork good. After holiday discussion was difficult to start as soon as I asked the question 'how often do Unique inspect cottages' ,I was told 'its three weeks since I had stayed at property and put in writing. To be fair I was through to a booking operator and did get through to some one else who was willing to discuss. I explained that there was an issue with a lumpy mattress, and a mattress with something sticking up out of it, and that I was questioning and advising that Unique be aware of the states of properties, BUT I did not want to write a bad review as overall it would not be fair as we had not brought the issue to the notice of owner and care taker during our stay.
I had no problems with booking the cottage. The website is clear and informative. My reservation was confirmed promptly and I was supplied with all the information I needed. I did not have to contact customer service with any queries but felt that they would have been dealt with efficiently if I had.
