It backs right on to the hill, with a sloping, enclosed back garden, accessed by doors from the superb first floor conservatory dining area via a series of decking areas, all of which gives you the opportunity of enjoying the wonderful views whatever the weather.
In the evening, you can retreat beyond the conservatory area into a snug sitting room with wood-burning stove, beyond which is a spacious modern kitchen. The entire living area is open plan and downstairs are two bedrooms, one en suite, a bathroom and utility/boot room.
There is parking right at the door. To the front is another enclosed garden, this time with views of the loch. Please note that there is no TV at the property due to reception, so this is ideally suited to those looking to 'escape'.
A tiny road leads down to the road that leads along Loch Sween where there are sandy beaches, Castle Sween (with its shop and café) and Kilmory Knap Chapel with its interesting ancient burial stones.
The Crinan Canal runs all the way from Ardrishaig to the harbour village of Crinan on the Sound of Jura. There are some lovely picnic spots on the banks of the canal where you can watch the boats negotiating the locks and bikes can be hired in Lochgilphead for exploring on two wheels. Boat trips run from Crinan Harbour out to the fascinating Corryvreckan whirlpool that lies between the Isles of Jura and Scarba. This natural phenomenon is one of the largest whirlpools in the world and is quite a sight to behold.
Lochgilphead (6 miles) is the best place for major shopping and from there you can explore the Mull of Kintyre, Kilmartin Glen, Loch Awe and, a little further away, Oban, Inveraray (with golf course), Loch Fyne and the beautiful gardens at Crarae.
Tayvallich, round the head of Loch Sween, is a famous and picturesque yachting haven with some magnificent scenery and a lovely pub/restaurant from which to sit and fully appreciate the wonderful loch view.
