The house was cleaned to a high standard and the heating came on automatically when it got a bit chilly one evening - even though it was August. There were lots of things that were really useful in the kitchen - and we did cook as it is not two minutes away from anything like the shops (which we knew when we booked it!). The owner was very helpful and friendly. The situation was delightful. It was a lovely place for a family holiday.

The cottage itself was very well appointed the best we have had. We were delighted with the view from the property and garden was very nice. If I could give some advice as far as elderly visitors go the sofa as far as I was concerned was difficult to get out of as at 75 it was to low. Please consider putting a handrail athe front door giving support going up and downstairs. The last thing I would suggest is either a permanent or suction handrail in the bathroom. I am very happy to say that our family would heartily recommend Carrick View and I am sure we will be back.

06-Sep-2025	Dalnavaid Cottage GB3 (overall)	Wow. What a stunning location with scenery all around but only 10 minute drive from the bustling town of Pitlochry. Your fish and chips from the town will still be warm when you get to the house! We walked from the front door but also further afield. The deer, sheep and otter right on your doorstep makes this a special place. Fabulous kitchen to sit and watch the countryside and equipped with everything you need. Comfortable beds and lots of personality.
06-Sep-2025	Shepherds Rest HB5 (overall)	Charming well equipped and comfortable cottage across the drive from working sheep farm,thank you to the family for their hospitality.Enjoyed watching Mr.Farmer tend to his sheep every day with the sheep dogs.Stunning location in the hills above Hownam enjoyed visits to Jedburgh,Harestanes Country Park,Kelso and Floors Castle.As mentioned by a previous visitor take your food and supplies,it’s a bit of a drive to the nearest shop! A great place to “get away from it all”but with all mod cons,good internet and phone signal.
