Mol Hall Cottage is a spacious, detached house that occupies a peaceful situation down a quiet country lane yet is only 5 minutes’ drive away from the ‘home of golf’ picturesque St Andrews, in the Kingdom of Fife.

Inside it has been cleverly laid out to create a warm and inviting living space with plenty of room to spread out into. The sitting room has a bright westerly aspect and an open fire that sits in an impressive feature stone fireplace with lancet windows behind. Large bay windows keep it all light and bright and the sliding doors leading through to the dining area can be opened up to give a lovely open plan feel.
At the heart of the kitchen/dining room is a huge Aga and there is also the choice of a gas hob if you prefer. Extra seating for enjoying a drink whilst ‘helping’ the nominated cook is provided at the two breakfast bars and there is even a handy wine fridge. Off the dining area is a lovely south-facing sunroom that is a lovely place to sit and enjoy the view as it gets the sun all day long.
Laid out all on the one level, are 4 bedrooms in total, three double and one single, all of which have plenty of built-in storage. The master bedroom has a chic en suite bathroom with a bath, separate shower and useful double sink and the other bedrooms make use of a second shower room.
The bright entrance porch provides storage for shoes and coats, etc and the utility room and additional WC both come in handy. An added bonus for children and adults alike is the double garage that houses a table tennis table that is sure to be a hit all round.
Once the gates are shut the garden is fully enclosed with well-tended lawns and open views out over the surrounding countryside. In the gravelled driveway there is plenty of parking and the terrace is a lovely place to dine outdoors, sit and take in the ambience or make use of the luxurious hot tub. There is even a little putting green in the garden for some getting in some practise.
St Andrews (2 miles) is known predominately for its golfing roots with 7 different links courses to choose from. The most famous is the Old Course with its pretty Swilcan Bridge and particularly tough Hell Bunker but the other courses are equally as picturesque with more modest green fees.
Just yards from the Old Course the British Golfing Museum houses a huge collection of golfing memorabilia (the largest in Europe in fact) that will keep golfers riveted for hours.
History enthusiasts will want to visit the ruins of St Andrews Castle that was once an impressive coastal fortress and joint tickets are available that also allow access to the remains of St Andrews Cathedral. Climb St Rule’s Tower within the grounds for some spectacular views out across the cathedral to the sea beyond.
A walk along pretty St Andrews beach is a must and there are several other nice sandy beaches strung out along the Fife coastline at Crail, Elie and Tentsmuir to name but a few.
Sea safari boat trips run out from the harbour at Elie (13 miles) taking in some more of the picturesque coastline with an array of sea birds to spot along the way, as well as seals and sometimes even dolphins.
