Even on the approach down the gated driveway one can’t help but admire the house with its wooden cladding that give it a natural look amidst its appealing backdrop of mature plants and trees. Inside, in the huge sitting room a stylish, feature wood-burning stove sits in the middle of the room with comfy seating placed around it and large picture windows that ensure it is light and bright.
Those with an interest in cooking will find that the dining kitchen is incredibly well-equipped with a huge range cooker and double oven that make light work of creating meals for a larger party.
A utility/boot room at the back of the house provides handy storage for coats and shoes, etc and there is also an en suite double bedroom on this level which is ideal for anyone with mobility issues that make stairs a challenge.
A spacious master suite has been laid out upstairs with a huge double bedroom, an en suite shower room and a separate dressing room as well. The two other bedrooms share a family bathroom and both of the upstairs bathrooms have the added luxury of underfloor heating.
The picturesque enclosed garden even has fruit trees and incredibly pretty views out towards the forested hills.
Further walks can be taken around the nearby forests that make up the Tay Forest Park or try fishing in the wonderful River Tay that is known for its salmon fishing.
The charming village of Fortingall (1.5 miles) is well worth a stop off for a look at its traditional thatched houses followed by a drink or meal in the lovely bar/restaurant there. The village is also home to a famous yew tree in the churchyard that is said to be over 5,000 years old!
Watersports enthusiasts will want to head to Kenmore (7 miles) at the head of Loch Tay to try paddle boarding, canoeing or the fun inflatables out in the water. Boat trips are available from Kenmore so that the loch can be explored in style with plenty of gorgeous scenery to take in.
Whilst nearby it is worth carrying on round the loch to see The Scottish Crannog Centre and experience some of how they would have lived in these loch dwellings back in the Iron Age.
At the market town of Aberfeldy (7 miles) the wonderful Birks of Aberfeldy waterfalls can be visited in their woodland setting. Tours of Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery on the outskirts of the town can be taken with experienced guides that explain the distillation process followed by a ‘wee dram’ in the whisky lounge.
