Millside Cottage is situated in the village of Blair Atholl, 34 miles north of Perth right where the smiling countryside of Highland Perthshire gives way to the wilder mountain scenery of the Highlands proper.

Dominated by the imposing structure of Blair Castle, the seat of the Dukes of Atholl (who are licensed to keep the only private army in Britain), its central location makes it ideal for exploring in all directions.
The cottage’s owners have made every effort to ensure its comfort. The sitting room is large and very inviting with it's wood burning stove and glass doors out to the front garden. The separate dining room can also double as a play room and has a supply of books and DVDs.
The kitchen is modern and well-equipped with all appliances you need very much to hand. The fact that the wonderful Watermill Bakery is just across the road means you can roll out of bed and pick up bread, rolls, bagels or whatever you fancy for breakfast straight from the oven. There is also a shower room on this level.
Upstairs are the three bedrooms, a double, a twin and a single. All the bedrooms are most attractively decorated and furnished, with not-too-steeply coombed ceilings and views away to the surrounding hills from their dormer windows. The double and the twin have plenty of space and in the twin there is even room for a cot as well.
In the single bedroom, the ceiling slopes quite steeply, so it is probably most suitable for a child or a ‘not-too-tall’ adult. The upstairs bathroom is very elegantly appointed and though, once again, the ceiling slopes, with the dormer window there is plenty of headroom in critical areas! And there is always the alternative of the downstairs shower.
Outside there is plenty of off street parking and the cottage sits in its own enclosed garden, which has a patio area (with furniture and BBQ) and a shed that provides storage for bicycles or canoes.
The cottage is just a couple of minutes' walk from Blair Atholl's shop, tearoom and hotel. In the other direction, is just a short walk too from the surrounding forests and hills.
The village has its own 9 hole golf course, fishing is available locally and Atholl Estates can organise stalking in season. Here you are perfectly placed for exploring the wild beauty of Loch Tummel and Loch Rannoch.
The Grampian Mountains, with skiing at Aviemore are just fifty miles up the road. Pitlochry, seven miles to the south, has all facilities and in addition a fish ladder and famous Festival Theatre. There too, you can cut over to the road to Braemar and Royal Deeside.
Railway buffs and children will enjoy the proximity to the local level crossing, but the rail system in this part of the world is a world apart from its southern counterpart. The trains manage to be fairly unobtrusive and to a great extent could be said to be 'seen and not heard'. Why not take advantage, leave the car behind and take a rail trip to Perth, Inverness, or even further afield?
