Activities for everyone

Enjoy a round of golf at the Aberfeldy Golf Club where there are very reasonable green fees and clubs for hire or, if fishing is of more interest, permits are available by arrangement with the local angling club for fishing for brown trout and grayling on the wonderful River Tay.

Falls of Moness

On the outskirts of the town is The Birks of Aberfeldy, a very picturesque circular walking route that takes in the beautiful Falls of Moness waterfalls. The falls inspired Robert Burns to write the song ‘The Birks of Aberfeldy’ on one of his visits there in 1787 and a bronze statue of the famous writer himself now proudly sits admiring the view.

Just outside Aberfeldy is the famous Dewar’s whisky distillery that was established all the way back in 1898 is just outside Aberfeldy. There are various distillery tours on offer followed by tastings in the whisky lounge/café that is warmed by a lovely open fire. For those with a sweet tooth there is even a tour that pairs different whiskies with chocolate - just the ticket! The heritage museum gives the chance to learn more about the history of the Dewar family and the café makes a good pit stop for lunch.
