Cranford Cottage is a delightful, detached holiday cottage set on the edge of the pretty village of Braemar right in the heart of Royal Deeside and within the picturesque Cairngorms National Park.

This charming house has undergone quite a transformation to create a bright and welcoming retreat that is ideally situated for walking, cycling and enjoying the many delights of the National Park. It stands alongside the owner's house, yet manages to retain a high degree of privacy and guests who have stayed in the past will no doubt be suitably impressed by its makeover!
Inside the main living area has been cleverly laid out in an open plan way that makes it the ideal place to gather and enjoy the warming effects of the wood-burning stove together. The kitchen and dining areas have also been incorporated so meals can be whipped up and enjoyed without the nominated cook missing out on any of the conversation or fun.
Large french doors open up to ‘bring the outdoors in’ and there is a little utility room that supplements the kitchen and neatly houses the laundry facilities.
Everything is all on one level here with the attractive and spacious double bedroom, light and airy twin room and modern shower room all easily to hand.
The patio seating area in front of the house is a lovely addition and the enclosed garden is great for both children and pets to run and play in freely. All in all, this is the perfect base from which to explore the village and the magnificent scenery that surrounds it with a comfortable and stylish haven to return to of an evening.
Shops, hotels and restaurants are just a few minutes walk away in the village itself.
There are excellent walks and cycle trails which can be accessed right from the door and Braemar is a superb centre for touring. The Queen's summer residence at Balmoral is just 10 miles along the road, Braemar Castle is just a short walk out of the village in that direction and there are numerous other castles, stately homes and gardens to be visited in the area.
Fishermen may care to try their luck in the famous River Dee (permits required) and golfers will find an attractive course just outside the village, while the ski area of the Lecht is about 23 miles away. Those interested in serious walking may wish to scale Lochnagar or one of the Grampian peaks or just lose themselves for the day in the wonderful scenery of the surrounding glens.
Heading north towards Tomintoul you will find yourself on the Speyside Way and the Whisky Trail, with many distilleries where you can sample the wares - a non-drinking chauffeur is highly recommended on this expedition! Further afield, Aberdeen itself is well worth a visit, or you can head further north to the Moray Coast.
