Braeside features bright and spacious rooms highlighted by the large windows looking out to the stunning Braemar countryside, which is right on your doorstep.
A roomy and radiant hallway welcomes guests and leads to the open-plan living space, which features a gable window which showcases the Morrone Corbett and its surrounding hills. The open plan living area is kept cosy by a central wood-burning stove which divides the lounge space from the dining and kitchen.
The dining table comfortably seats 4 guests, and the kitchen is well equipped for cooking up hearty meals. Here, doors lead out to a pretty patio area where there’s a bench in an enclosed garden which faces onto a wild woodland area. This space is perfect for letting your furry friends out to play while you have your morning cuppa and appreciate the stunning views of the nearby hills.
A small inner hallway leads to the bedrooms. A twin bedroom with a convenient bathroom adjacent and a double bedroom with an ensuite shower room are guaranteed to be everything you need for a restful night in Braemar.
Ample parking is available at the property and further down the entrance road. The road leading up to Braeside has a rough track, so care should be taken on approach.
As one of the most iconic villages in Highland Scotland, Braemar is sure to have plenty to keep you entertained during you time away and has easy access to all local amenities and activities.
Straight out of the garden, you can scale nearby Morrone, which can be seen from Braeside and makes a lovely hill circuit or riverside stroll, offering 360° views of the surrounding Cairngorm peaks and over Braemar village itself. Picturesque walking routes include the River Dee riverside walk, Linn of Dee and Linn of Quoich (the Punchbowl circuit). From the centre of Braemar, the Lion’s Face and the Cromlins walk is a circular route that heads out into the surrounding countryside, passing the striking Braemar Castle, Invercauld House and the Upper Dee valley.
Every September, the Braemar Gathering, the best-known Highland games, comes to the Duke of Fife Memorial Park. The event celebrates traditional Highland food, dress, music, and dancing.
In the centre of Braemar, The Fife Arms is a must-visit location, with over 10,000 art works on display, serving delicious food and drink from its various bars and restaurants, or choose to take a break in the luxurious spa. Also in the village, Farquharson’s Bar and Kitchen and The Bothy are both excellent places to stop for a bite to eat. Braemar Golf Club is a fantastic 18-hole course and the highest course in the whole of Scotland, naturally with amazing scenery to enjoy while you play. Located in the Cairngorms National Park, there are many mountain biking trails; head to Braemar Mountain Sports for local bike hire and take the popular trail from Invercauld Bridge to Balmoral Castle.
Explore Royal Deeside like a local and take a tour with Yellow Welly Tours to discover the area's hidden gems as told to you by a local. Take a guided tour of the royal residence, Balmoral Castle (9 miles) or a scenic walk around the gardens and grounds.
Wild swimming is popular in the area, and Wild Braemar offers safe packages for visitors to do so. Glenshee Ski Centre is 17 miles down the road and is frequented by skiers and snowboarders alike.
Rothiemurchus is a little further out but offers (56 miles) brilliant water sports, white water rafting, canoeing, paddleboarding, as well as many opportunities for spotting wildlife and exploring the magnificent countryside.
The city of Perth is 50 miles south. The eastern coastline is just under 60 miles away, but worth the journey for the rugged coast and dramatic views. Also, towards the east, the city centre of Aberdeen is also under 60 miles away
