Aviemore, in the heart of the Highlands and right beside the Cairngorm Mountains, woke up in the 1960s from being a sleepy Highland village to become the wintersports and wildlife paradise it is today, with all the facilities that holiday makers could wish for.

Now there is yet another good reason to come here! In a quiet residential area on the edge of the village is Tayvulin, a modern, beautifully presented and spacious home now available for holiday letting.
Tayvulin is indeed a most desirable holiday home and guests cannot fail to be impressed with the scale and quality of the accommodation which the house offers. It stands in its secluded grass garden (furniture and patio) to which both its large, well-equipped dining kitchen and attractive sitting room (with open fire) have French door access. There are high specification furniture and fittings throughout, with fine wooden flooring downstairs.
Downstairs there is also a twin bedroom and shower and utility rooms. There is a great feeling of space and light afforded by the many large windows.
Upstairs are a king-size double bedroom with en suite shower and Juliet balcony, a further double bedroom, a twin bedrom and another bathroom (also with shower). The charming and beautifully co-ordinated décor is particularly evident in the attractive bedrooms and the accommodation is also very versatile. There is off-road parking for at least two cars by the back door.
Once you are so comfortably established at Tayvulin, you will doubtless find yourself with the dilemma of what to do first as there is just so much to choose from here. With the mountain railway to whisk you to the top of the pistes, skiing and snowboarding on the Cairngorms are a given in winter and Aviemore also has an ice rink.
At other times of year, that same range of mountains offers great walking and climbing, while Loch Morlich is famous for its watersports and breathtaking scenery. Pony trekking, mountain biking, kayaking and canoeing can also be enjoyed locally.
There are also plenty of rather unique places to visit, such as the Sleddog Centre, the Reindeer Centre, Rothiemurchus Forest Park (much featured in the BBC Springwatch programmes and where you may spot all manner of native flora and fauna - even, perhaps, the elusive wildcat), the Highland Gem Museum and, again something completely different, Waltzing Waters at Newtonmore.
Visits to nearby Grantown on Spey, perhaps by the Highland Steam Railway, will afford you the chance in summer to see the nesting osprey, for this is where they first returned to this country some forty years ago and they have bred here each year since. Further afield, Inverness is less than an hour's drive away and from there you can visit Loch Ness and explore further to north and west.
There is quite simply no chance of anyone being bored at Tayvulin!
