The Junipers is a charming cottage on the edge of the Highland village of Tomatin. Extremely well furnished and equipped, it makes a cosy and comfortable 'home from home' for any season of the year.

The cottage is especially and interestingly designed for two people. It is semi-detached (from the owner's conservatory) and is just 200 yards from the River Findhorn where fishing can be arranged.
For a small house, the Junipers punches well above its weight in terms of space and style. Some of the doors between the rooms (except the bedroom and bathroom of course) have been dispensed with in favour of arches, which again contribute to the light and roomy feel of the house.
The sitting room is quite opulently furnished, with lots of room to spread out. It is made light and bright by the large windows and doors that lead out to the garden area and has a multi-fuel stove to create further warmth and atmosphere.
There is a neat dining area placed conveniently close to the arch that leads through to the very spacious, attractive and well-equipped kitchen.
All on one level there is one bedroom that has a versatile double/twin bed that can become the equivalent of a super-king, whilst still leaving plenty of room. A bathroom with bath and shower over completes the accommodation. The Junipers stands in ‘Big Country’ and the house does rather succeed in following suit!
Outside the small patio and garden area (with furniture) catches the sun for most of the day and provides extensive views across open country to the rear.
The Highland village of Tomatin itself is about 2 miles off the A9 road and has a shop and famous whisky distillery.
The village is 14 miles north of Aviemore and the Cairngorm Mountains conservation/ski area and, with the Cairngorms more or less on the doorstep, is very well placed for serious climbers and skiers. At lovely Loch Morlich, there is an Outdoor Discovery Centre and plenty of facilities for water sports, mountain biking, etc.
Those who enjoy the spectacular Highland scenery will be spoilt for choice and those who like to walk, tour and fish will really appreciate this excellent cottage that also has all the amenities of Inverness (16 miles), the ‘Capital of the Highlands’, just half an hour's drive away.
For those who love wildlife in particular, this is a paradise indeed. The area is home to roe and fallow deer, wild goats, red squirrels, pine marten and is one of the last retreats of the very elusive wildcat. It teems with birdlife as well and you may see, among others, woodpeckers, siskins, long-tailed tits, crossbills, ptarmigan and capercaillie. Boat of Garten (15 miles) is where osprey were first reintroduced into Scotland and they have bred here every year since.
The whole of this area is very well developed for visitors - you can visit Scotland’s only reindeer herd, go pony trekking, quad biking, take a wildlife safari at Rothiemurchus, or even ride the Speyside steam railway.
