This former croft house sits 600 feet above Loch Ness and has a magnificent panorama of nearly the whole loch. Even Ben Nevis (60 miles) is visible on a clear day, whilst across the loch there is the majestic wilderness of the Monadhliath Mountains.
The house has its own private garden (with furniture) and is situated on a 1,200 acre estate. Inside, it has been carefully modernised to provide most comfortable accommodation with those spectacular views from nearly every window. Here you can watch in comfort for the 'monster', said to have been encountered first by Columba in the 6th century.
The sitting room is charmingly furnished, made light and bright by its double windows and kept cosy by its wood-burning stove. The dining kitchen is particularly spacious, with the well-fitted modern kitchen at one end and plenty of space for dining at the other. The bathroom and a further WC are also on the ground floor.
Upstairs off the upper landing are two large and well-furnished bedrooms, a double and a triple, both of which have slightly coombed ceilings. In both, the dormer windows look out once again on that incredible panorama. The triple bedrooms has plenty of space and is bound to appeal to any youngsters in the party who will doubtless look forward to endless fun while they are ‘all in together’.
The house even boasts green credentials in the form of wind-turbine electricity, so you can enjoy the house and its wonderful situation, safe in the knowledge that your carbon footprint impact will be minimal.
Close by, guests can enjoy walking in the surrounding hills or cycling along the Great Glen cycleway. The house is just 4 miles from Drumnadrochit (with shops, hotels, restaurants, pony trekking, boat trips and Monster Museum).
The area affords plenty of scope for observing the local wildlife. During the spring the RSPB run early morning trips at Corrimony to view the unforgettable black grouse lek with their competitive mating displays). Glen Strathfarrar is a lovely area for a picnic and possibly, with luck, a sighting of a rare golden eagle.
The famous Urquhart Castle (3 miles) is definitely worth exploring. Inverness (18 miles) has all facilities, leisure centres, supermarkets and more wildlife watching opportunities, this time of dolphins in the estuary on the northern edge of the city.
You can be in Fort William in just over an hour and the Isle of Skye, Plockton, Ullapool or the Black Isle and the North Highlands beyond Inverness, all are accessible from Wester Bunloit.
Here you are also well-placed for visiting Wester Ross, the Road to the Isles and the lovely sandy beaches of the Moray Firth.
