This rural cottage is set on a working farm with another cottage alongside and is presented in a traditional Highland theme throughout. An electric flame-effect stove cosies up the sitting room for evenings spent in front of the TV and there is a handy dining area to one end.
Sea views can be appreciated from the modern kitchen which has a door leading straight out to the back garden and there is a little cloakroom area by the front door that has storage space for coats, boots, etc.
Laid out all on the one level are the two attractively presented double bedrooms and the indoor accommodation is completed by a light and airy bathroom where there is the choice of a soak in the bath or the shower overhead.
Parking is just outside the front door and at the rear of the cottage is a gravelled seating area with views out towards the Moray Firth just quarter of a mile away to the Black Isle beyond. Wonderful sunsets can be also be admired from the garden that has a large lawn area that is perfect for kids and pets.
With Inverness (3.5 miles), the ‘Capital of the Highlands’, just down the road all the shops and amenities needed are just a short drive away. Inverness’s airport and train station are nearby and there are plenty of car hire options available.
Explore Highland (6.5 miles) on the other side of Inverness offers various watersport excursions with canoeing, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding to try out.
For a special round of golf head to the Castle Stuart Links Golf Course (3.5 miles) where there are 18 holes to play and some amazing coastal scenery to take in along the way. History enthusiasts will want to pay a visit to the Culloden battlefield (3.5 miles) where the battle took place back in 1746. The visitor centre has an exhibition detailing the moving tale of the famous conflict.
Whilst in the area a visit to beautiful Loch Ness should certainly be on the cards. The loch is said to be home to the elusive Loch Ness monster and at the heart of ‘Nessie Country’ is Drumnadrochit (20 miles) where there are two different ‘monster museums’ and monster spotting trips that run out regularly on the loch.
At the Learnie Red Rock Trails (20 miles) near Fortrose there are green, blue and black mountain biking trails to tackle depending on skill level, as well as a dirt jump area that is great fun. Chanonry Point, a spit of land jutting into the sea from Fortrose, is known as an excellent site for spotting dolphins from the shoreline. At the Fairy Glen RSPB Reserve (17.5 miles) walking paths lead around the woodland with its delightful waterfalls and there is wildlife aplenty including buzzards, herons, bullfinchs and deer, etc.
