This beautifully presented, substantial, detached house has a marvellous location in Strathglass, near the village of Cannich (3 miles) and looking towards what is arguably the loveliest glen in Scotland, Glen Affric, that is familiar from a zillion calendars.

The setting is a peaceful one and the house stands within 0.75 acres of its own wild gardens up 300 yards of good forestry track. There is a charming octagonal summerhouse and a patio area (with furniture) for al fresco dining or evening drinks. An additional feature, which will appeal to families, is the table tennis table in the garage where there is also secure storage.
Inside, the house has been carefully and most comfortably furnished to a very high standard, with four bedrooms (there is one double and a shower room downstairs, making it very suitable for those of limited mobility). It is heated by oil central heating with wood-burning stoves in the sitting room and dining kitchen for added warmth and ambience.
The kitchen is well fitted with all modern appliances, and there is an additional utility room. It is an ideal holiday home for families wishing to holiday together or for parties of friends.
Please note: the property is accessed via a single track with a high gradient. On rare occasions during adverse weather it may be advisable to leave vehicles at the bottom of the track and proceed on foot for around 300 metres.
The area is second to none in terms of scenery and wildlife. There are wonderful walks to be enjoyed in the surrounding glens and hills, perhaps to the nearby Plodda Falls, while the quiet roads are also good for cycling. Fishing permits can be obtained for both loch and river fishing locally.
Those interested in the local fauna will find this a perfect paradise - deer, pine martens and red squirrels all may be seen and bird lovers will find themselves in heaven as, in addition to many song birds, buzzards and osprey, a pair of golden eagles have habitually nested in the surrounding hills.
For exploring, a short drive of only 15 miles or so will bring you to Drumnadrochit (shops, hotels) on Loch Ness, where you can take boat trips on the loch. Pony trekking is available at nearby Cougie. To the south, you can continue down to the pretty village of Fort Augustus, where the Caledonian Canal passes through a series of picturesque locks, and Fort William and Ben Nevis, (world-class mountain biking and skiing in winter at Aonach Mor) and the start of the Road to the Isles.
Turning north, you can visit Inverness, a city with a tremendous buzz. From there, you can explore the Moray Coast, the Black Isle, or even further north to Sutherland and John o'Groats.
