Kinglass Cottage is a spacious, semi-detached cottage in a courtyard setting near the main Lodge.

In its valley setting, it looks out across the gravelled parking area to the railed garden, where guests can sit out on sunny days and children and pets can play. Beyond that is woodland, and then the surrounding hills. There is also a picnic table beside the entrance if you feel like taking your coffee or tea outside but want to stay right beside the house.
Inside is a delightful little reception area with comfy chairs and a very large farmhouse style dining kitchen. It is clearly demarcated with a ‘business end’ for cooking and food preparation and a very spacious ‘eating end’, with plenty of room for everyone to gather round in comfort. There is also a handy utility room.
The ‘two part’ sitting room has a quiet end for guests who wish to read or prefer other tranquil pursuits and a main area that has an open fire and TV. Also on this level is a double bedroom and a useful WC.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms, a double (with en suite) and two twin rooms, all of which are light, airy and comfortably furnished. A family bathroom with shower completes the accommodation.
Centrally heated and extremely comfortable, Kinglass Cottage is a perfect setting for two families wishing to holiday together or for larger parties in general.
The 31,000 acre Auch and Invermeran Estate comprises some of the most breathtaking scenery in the west of Scotland.
It centres on the magnificent glen which runs up from Tyndrum towards Rannoch Moor and Glencoe, between Ben Dorain and Beinn Chaorach. It is, furthermore, crossed by the West Highland Way, which passes within a few hundred yards of its cottages.
There is salmon fishing on the Orchy (from February to October) and trout fishing at other times. Shooting and stalking can also be arranged in season. Walkers, climbers and sportsmen will therefore find it a slice of paradise, while less energetic guests will be no less thrilled by the abundant wildlife and the peace and freedom of the fabulous surroundings.
Even railway buffs will find something to enjoy in this wild and remote place, for the cottage is within sight of two impressive viaducts, very similar to the Glenfinnan viaduct immortalized by the Hogwarts Express!
Just half a mile from the main A82 trunk road, the cottage is well placed for touring. Glencoe is just over sixteen miles to the north west, while both Oban and Fort William are forty miles away. From Oban you can take boat trips to Iona, Staffa, Mull and some of the other islands.
From Fort William you can take the Road to the Isles, or why not take the train all the way from Tyndrum to Fort William and then the steam train to Mallaig which will enable you to actually compare these wonderful viaducts at first hand!
In the other direction, it is only seventeen miles to the top of Loch Lomond, with its famous golf courses, boating and sailing possibilities. The Trossachs, Loch Katrine and even Glasgow are all within easy reach. The nearest shops, hotels and garage are at Tyndrum, with a hotel also at Bridge of Orchy.
