This traditional cottage has been lovingly refurbished and attractively furnished throughout and is cleverly laid out so that both the sitting room and double bedroom have wonderful outlooks over the loch.
The cosy sitting room has a wood-burning stove at its heart, with comfy seating to curl up on around it whilst enjoying the west-facing views of the sun setting over the water outside. In the very well-equipped kitchen there is a lovely range cooker, traditional Belfast sink and bistro table for informal dining.
The cottage is all on one level with a spacious and beautifully presented double bedroom and a neat single bedroom. In the bathroom there is the choice of a free-standing, rolltop bath to soak in or a separate walk-in shower.
Outside parking is right by the house and the sloping grassed garden to the rear of the house has seating set up for enjoying the gorgeous expansive view across the loch to Inveraray and the mountains beyond. At the front of the house is a cute little seating area looking out over the sparkling waters and to the side is a raised deck with quirky whisky barrel seating.
Many hours can be happily wiled away admiring the loch with the boats bobbing in the distance and the light playing on the water, but there is also much to do in this area of outstanding natural beauty.
There is plenty of wildlife to keep an eye out for with diving gannets, eider ducks, dolphins and even basking sharks often being spotted. Scuba diving is available in Loch Fyne and boat trips run out so you can explore it further, or even head out to the further flung islands of Islay and Jura.
The cottage is on the edge of the Argyll Forest Park and there is good walking in the woods and hills round about. Strachur is in easy walking distance and has a bar and restaurant, a little shop and café and a petrol station.
The widely acclaimed Inver Restaurant is just a 10 minute drive away at Strachlachan. Heading south towards Dunoon are the Benmore Botanic Gardens and magical Puck's Glen that are both well worth a visit. Dunoon (19 miles) has plenty of shops, supermarkets and a leisure centre.
A ferry service runs from Colintraive (21 miles) across to the Isle of Bute, where you can take in the resort of Rothesay and the magnificent house and gardens of Mount Stuart. The crossing only takes 5 minutes, in fact, many years ago cattle used to be swum from the island over to the mainland!
