Caorann House is a large, luxury holiday home that sits in an unspoilt and unique part of the west Highlands of Scotland, surrounded by lochs, mountains and coastline.
This contemporary four bed property enjoys a very special location overlooking Loch Teacuis on the remote Morvern Peninsula - with a stunning design and breathtaking views of the water and hills, it is a hidden gem.
It is nestled on the small and tranquil Rahoy Estate with an array of wildlife and beauty right on its doorstep, boasting a spacious layout that has everything to ensure the ultimate deluxe retreat, from tall picture windows and a large open-plan living area, to underfloor heating and a terrace, to name only a few of its highlights.
A light and airy hallway leads into the sprawling ground floor, which comprises a pantry, wet room, cloakroom and utility room, a master double bedroom with ensuite which has a bath with a view, and a large well-equipped kitchen – each one furnished and decorated to the highest standards and trends.
A jaw-dropping panorama awaits in the lounge area, with its vast windows and comfy couches, a stylish space which has been designed for relaxation, and making the most of the spectacular scenery out along the loch. A wood burning stove, television, Wi-Fi and a music system complete this exceptional room.
The impressive accommodation continues upstairs with another double bedroom, adjacent family bathroom, two twin bedrooms and a toilet.
And outside the vista can be further lapped on a magnificent terrace, complete with barbecue and furniture, where uninterrupted views of Loch Teacius can be enjoyed over breakfast or drinks.
Located off the beaten track but easily accessible by car or ferry, Caorann House offers a tranquil beauty spot to relax, and a luxurious base from which to explore the beautiful landscapes and coastline.
Morvern in the West Highlands is a special corner of Scotland that is a true paradise for anyone seeking peace and tranquillity, whilst being immersed in iconic scenery, wildlife, and heritage.
Situated on the stunning west coast with Sunart and Ardgour to the north, Morvern is a peninsula which despite being remote, is just a day’s journey from the UK’s major cities. Although still on the mainland, it is separated from the Isle of Mull by a narrow strip of water to the south called the Sound of Mull, and is best reached via the Corran-Ardgour ferry, which takes just a few minutes over Loch Linnhe.
Despite not being a well-known popular tourist spot, what awaits its visitors is an unforgettable mountainous location, blessed with ancient history, oak woodlands, rolling hills, rivers, sea lochs and stunning shorelines – indeed, the rugged expanse of the Morvern Peninsula is one of the few places in the UK which remains almost untouched by modern life.
The main settlement of Morvern is the small community of Lochaline located at the end of the A884, where there is a well-stocked shop, post office, a restaurant and a pub, but there is also Rahoy, Drimnin and Laudale. And they are all steeped in history, from prehistoric settlements and Viking occupation, to the infamous Highland clearances, with many places to visit and explore.
There are endless walks around the Morvern Peninsula, both inland and coastal, and it is also a great area for cycling, mountain biking, canoeing and kayaking. The Rahoy Estate is an ideal spot for hillwalking with spectacular views over Loch Sunart to the islands of Coll & Tiree, and there are good shoreline walks along both sides of Loch Teacuis.
There are few places in Britain that offer the chance to see such a variety of wildlife, from woodland birds, deer, golden eagles, otters, and seals, to even the enormous sea eagles.
Well worth a visit is the Rahoy Hills Nature Reserve, managed by the Scottish Wildlife Trust, which is designated as a site of special interest. A haven for wildlife, plant life, and with breathtaking views, it is a must for outdoor activities, trails to explore, water sports and fishing, as well as the perfect place to relax.
Nearby Ardtornish Castle, built in the 13th century by the MacDonald Lordship of the Isles, is also worth seeing. It once stood guard over the Sound of Mull and entrance to Loch Aline, and today there is a lovely walk to the ruins with striking views across the sea.
For a very special picnic site, head to Drimnin and the ‘Wishing Stone’, an arched dyke, which according to folklore, can grant a wish if someone fills their mouth with spring water and passes through it three times.
The Ferry to Mull at Lochaline allows the chance to explore Mull and Iona for the day, and there are also numerous boat tours and wildlife tours available, as well as a dive centre. Whisky lovers could also enjoy a tour of the Nc’nean Distillery.
With its dramatic scenery where land meets the sea, and a friendly community, Morvern offers a true escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life, promising remarkable sights and experiences all year round.
