North Cottage is one of three holiday cottages altogether at Eilanreach, which are in a little gathering of houses about quarter of a mile from the shore of the Sound of Sleat.

This traditional stone cottage is most attractive and welcoming. Inside the spacious sitting room has an open fire that is ideal to snuggle up in front of. The large kitchen/diner is well-equipped with plenty of room for both cooking and dining. There is even a dishwasher so there is no need to worry about whose turn it is to do the dishes!
Also on this level are a twin bedroom and the family bathroom. There is also a large enclosed porch that is handy for shedding and storing coats and muddy boots.
Upstairs there are two more bedrooms, a double and a twin. They are both pleasantly presented, with charming coombed ceilings (the double room has a super king-size bed that can be also be converted into twin beds).
Outside, the pleasant enclosed front garden (with furniture) is the ideal place from which to admire the delightful views of the Sound and the mountains beyond.
The Estate stretches many miles along the shores of The Sound of Sleat opposite the southern end of the Isle of Skye and faces west across 3 miles of sea towards the dramatic peaks of The Cuillin Mountains on Skye and south to the Islands of Eigg, Rhum and Muck.
The nearby village of Glenelg has a hotel/restaurant, PO and well-stocked general store.
There is magnificent scenery on a grand scale herer with 3,000 foot mountains all round about. There are woodlands, a spectacular waterfall into the shallow River Glenbeag and two Pictish brochs to explore, as well as wonderful walks and masses of quiet spots with stunning views to picnic in.
The coast is mainly rugged but at Arnisdale and Sandaig Bay there are sandy/light-shingle beaches and it was at Sandaig Bay that Gavin Maxwell, author of 'Ring of Bright Water', spent 20 years in a lonely cottage on the shore and wrote vividly of his life with the otters and other animals.
The Isle of Skye is very easily accessed by the bridge and once there you have a whole multitude of museums, restaurants and tourist attractions of all kinds to visit.
