Braeintra is a tiny hamlet on the single-track road to Plockton, between Kyle of Lochalsh and Stromeferry on Scotland's incomparable west coast. Here, standing high and set back above the road is Tigh Braeintra.

This quite superb and immaculate house has been beautifully fitted and furnished by its proud new owners. A sweeping drive leads up to the house through extensive sloping and well fenced gardens, with veranda, pond and glorious views down the valley towards the mountains of Skye. There is parking for several vehicles beside the house.
Inside, the accommodation is bright, spacious and of a quality to delight even the most fastidious guest. A bright, roomy hallway leads to a double sitting room, its two parts joined by an arch, with wood-burning stove and French doors to the decking outside. There is a very large and state-of-the-art dining kitchen that is splendidly equipped and there is a handy area at the back door for washing off muddy boots, etc. There is also a twin bedroom and shower room downstairs.
Upstairs, by an open tread staircase, are two king-size double bedrooms, one with balcony, again giving magnificent views of the mountains, and a bathroom. There is also an upstairs study/sitting room. A particular feature of the house is the panelled ceilings, which give it (as if it needed anything else) considerable character. The house has oil-fired central heating.
If the immediate surroundings and the accommodation cannot fail to please, the same can be said of the area. The Skye bridge in Kyle of Lochalsh is only a 15 minute drive away so you can head over to Skye to explore the island or try climbing in the famous Cuillin mountains.
Staying on the mainland there are also the Five Sisters of Kintail above Loch Duich to climb. Picturesque Plockton, with its palm trees along the loch front, has some superb restaurants and is a favourite tourist spot.
To the north is Strathcarron, (shops, hotel and golf course) from where you can take the spectacular Pass of the Cattle over to Applecross (a strong nerve is required but infinitely rewarding) on the wonderful peninsula of the same name. You can go further north to Torridon for more walking and climbing is some of Scotland's most spectacular mountains and Gairloch.
Those with an interest in wildlife will find plenty to interest them including deer, pine marten and otters, as well as buzzards and eagles in the skies above. We feel sure that Tigh Braeintra is a house to which you will wish to return again and again.
