This coastal cottage’s main living accommodation is light, airy and open plan with a cosy seating area placed around a traditional wood-burning stove on one side, a large dining table with French doors alongside on the other and a chic kitchen just off it.
Two windows in the corner of the master double bedroom frame a gorgeous sea view that can be taken in from the comfort of bed - always a lovely sight to wake up to! There is also an en suite bathroom with a bath and shower over and a glass door out to the garden so the views can even be admired from the tub.
The second double bedroom has a little wash basin and the attractive twin room has ziplink beds that can be configured as a super king-size bed if required. These bedrooms share another modern bathroom with a bath and an open wetroom style shower.
An additional studio style double bedroom with a snug/reading area, sink, tea/coffee making facilities and en suite bathroom with bath and shower over (accessed from inside the house) will be available from 2023 onwards.
A rough grassed garden surrounds the house with lots of mature plants and trees, as well as seating positioned in front of lovely views over Loch Carron and up Loch Kishorn to the Applecross mountains. Parking is to the front of the house and there is walking right from the front door.
The nearby coral beach in walking distance is something of a hidden gem and Plockton’s train station is just a couple of minutes’ away so it is great for getting out and about exploring.
Plockton is known by many as the ‘jewel of the Highlands’ and it is easy to see why. The picturesque village nestles around a charming sheltered harbour that is lined with palm trees and is a lovely place to enjoy a seafront stroll followed by a chip supper.
Every July Plockton really comes to life as the Plockton Regatta comes around. This impressive sailing festival brings a fortnight of boat races and celebration to the village and draws in visitors and competitors from far and wide.
Those looking to take on a new skill can try a Kayaking Day Course with one of the experienced guides from Sea Kayak Plockton which is a great way of taking in the striking scenery from the unique perspective of the water.
There are several corbetts (peaks over 2,500 feet in height) for hikers to take on in the area. With the Skye bridge being so close by at Kyle of Lochalsh (6 miles), the wonderful Isle of Skye is easily accessible for day trips over to take in some of its sights such as the Fairy Pools in Glen Brittle and the iconic Old Man of Storr rock formation on the Trotternish peninsula.
For a driving experience to really remember the dramatic winding mountain Bealach Na Ba pass (30 miles) that traverses the Applecross mountains has to be seen to be believed. A brave few even attempt the road by bike and there is a viewpoint halfway up that showcases an absolutely stunning, panoramic view.
