Well known to serious mountaineers and hill walkers the world over, Torridon is a wild, rugged and spectacularly beautiful area to the west of Kinlochewe. With few roads or settlements it really is a place to get away from it all in truly amazing surroundings.
We had trouble finding the key and were cut off due to lack phone service and they did not ring back at all to see whether all was ok. We were charged a housekeeping deposit of £100 when the condition of the property and equipment fell short of normal standards. When we subsequently complained about the condition of the cottage and the portakabin, we were criticised for not saying anything during our stay. We did not want to spoil our holiday any more than it was, and this should not have invalidated our complaint.
The location of cottage was amazing. Though it was away from all at the same time not too far from Inverness. The place was super clean with all that one would require for a nice family holiday. The open areas around the cottage were good for kids to run around.
The cottage is in a perfect location with views to die for. This is the second time we have used this cottage but we did find that things were beginning to look a bit tired in lounge particularly. The worst thing was that a lot of the windows have steamed up in the sealed unit which means you can’t see the view!
Well built and well appointed cottage. Great kitchen; nice shower; thoughtfully furnished. Feels like a luxury stay. Good location with nice walks nearby. Safe running route from the house without disturbance neighbourhood dogs. Some staples are provided on arrival and we replaced once we got to the supermarket in Wicke.
