River Cottage at Luss is an attractive detached house tucked away in a private setting surrounded by greenery, amidst the pretty lanes of the village of Luss on the western shore of wonderful Loch Lomond in the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.

This is the perfect base for getting out and about exploring with comfort and warmth awaiting on your return at the end of the day. On entering the useful vestibule has plentiful space for muddy boots and hanging up coats, etc. Inside, the delightful, spacious sitting room is decorated with splashes of Scottish charm and the separate dining room enjoys views on two sides to the garden and beyond to the Luss hills.
Equipped with everything needed for cooking up a storm, the kitchen is neat and well-appointed with a lovely stable door that leads out to the garden.
In the very generously sized double bedroom the king-size bed can be configured as twin beds as required for maximum flexibility and there is a sunny, south-facing en suite bathroom with a bath and rain shower over. The twin bedroom also has its own en suite bathroom and there is an additional WC as well, which is accessed from the hallway.
Al fresco meals can be enjoyed at the patio area where there is outdoor seating and a BBQ. The enclosed grassed back garden is great for children and pets and looks out towards the surrounding hills.
Children and adults alike are sure to love the Loch Lomond Faerie Trail that runs around the village. An activity booklet can be picked up from Loch Lomond Adventures just 5 minutes’ walk away and answers can be submitted at the end to enter into a prize draw. Dogs are welcome on the trail as well but do make sure to keep an eye out for trolls along the way!
There are plenty of amenities right on the doorstep - the nearby Luss Smokehouse Shop has plenty of delicious delicacies on offer so you can treat yourself to some smoked salmon for breakfast and the Luss General Store a couple of minutes’ walk away is very well-stocked with provisions.
Luss itself is very picturesque to wander around with its traditional lamp posts that are dotted around and the wonderful pier from which boat trips run out on the loch. The pebbly beach by the pier is also a centre for watersports including kayaking, paddle boarding, water skiing and banana boat rides.
Loch Lomond Shores at Balloch (9.5 miles) is a hub for a range of different activities with everything from walking, cycling, shopping and an exciting tree top adventure course to have a go at. Wildlife lovers will want to explore the fascinating aquarium and bird of prey centre that has 26 different species of birds and owls.
If golf is on the agenda there are several excellent courses in easy reach nearby. The Cameron House Golf Course (8 miles) is the closest and has the ‘wee demon’ 9 hole course and a full, 18 hole championship standard course to choose from, both of which have amazing loch views. Helensburgh’s (9.5 miles) scenic course welcomes visitors and whilst there Rennie Mackintosh’s famous Hill House is well worth a visit, particularly for interior design enthusiasts.
