Open plan living is at the heart of the home with the sitting, cooking and dining areas all together in a spacious and bright, L-shaped room. A fire crackles away in the wood-burning stove and the comfy sofas have been positioned perfectly for taking in the amazing view of the loch that is showcased by huge windows on two sides. Doors by the dining table lead out to a delightful decked seating area.

The colourful kitchen is well-equipped with everything easily to hand and the huge gas range cooker makes light work of creating tasty meals. It is supplemented by a utility room with washing facilities and a handy pulley for drying clothes. Also on this level is a double bedroom with a king-size bed and a loch vista from the windows, a pretty twin room and a modern bathroom with views to admire even whilst soaking in the tub. The study opposite this bathroom provides a calm and comfortable space for those wanting to sit down and do some work or escape the kitchen and read a book in peace!

Upstairs the master, en suite double bedroom has a stunning, glass gable end with a Juliet balcony to fully appreciate the dramatic loch scene from. At the other end of the house, a spacious and bright family room has been laid out with a king-size double bed, two single beds and an en suite bathroom. There is also a games room upstairs that has a mini snooker table, a table football table and a bath/shower room off it.

Plenty of space for parking is right by the door and incredible scenery can be taken in all around, particularly from the charming deck that wraps around the front of the house looking straight towards the water below.

Map & Local

In the Mains of Taymouth Estate in the village of Kenmore (7 miles) there is a lovely gift shop and delicatessen with plenty of souvenirs and delicious treats on offer. There is also a bar and restaurant, a picturesque 9-hole golf course and even riding stables to try out within the estate.

At the Loch Tay Boating Centre in Kenmore there are watersports to have a go at including canoeing and kayaking and they rent out boats and mountain bikes too. From the forest near Mains of Taymouth a walking path leads up to the elevated Black Rock Viewpoint that has delightful, expansive views of both Loch Tay and Kenmore village.

For further exploration of the surroundings it is worth heading out on an excursion with Highland Safaris who run boat trips and various safaris for wildlife spotting or simply learning all about the area from an experienced guide.

Walkers and climbers will find plenty of interest nearby with the imposing Ben Lawers to tackle and as other peaks such as Ben More and Schiehallion in easy reach about half an hour’s drive away.

Aberfeldy (13.5 miles) is the place to go for supermarket shopping and the Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery just outside the town is a great place for an interesting tour followed by a wee dram. There is also a white water rafting company in Aberfeldy that offers adrenalin rushes such as rafting and canyoning as well as paddleboarding and paintballing.
