In order to make the very most of its location this stylish semi-detached apartment has been laid out with the main open plan living area on street level. One wall is made almost completely of glass to really show off the impressive vista of the marina and the boats moored outside. Doors lead out to a wooden balcony that directly overlooks the wonderful seascape, making it the ideal place to admire them from.
Smart sofas can be curled up on in front of the large TV while the flame effect gas stove flickers away with the dining area behind. Partly open to this room is a bright and modern kitchen area that is equipped with everything needed including a dishwasher. A little utility room is where the laundry facilities are kept neatly tucked away.
Stairs lead down to the lower level where the two beautiful double bedrooms with their harbour views have been laid out. One of the bedrooms has a sleek en suite shower room and the other makes use of a stylish, separate bathroom.
Private parking is right outside and a short stroll reaches the harbour where it is interesting to watch the various boats coming and going. The little museum there explains all about town’s fishing past.
The apartment is very centrally located so there is easy access to very good cafés and restaurants and also a choice of places to stop off for some traditional seaside fish and chips or ice cream.
Lossiemouth is a very welcoming place, known locally simply as ‘Lossie’, with a small supermarket a couple of minutes’ walk away that has most required provisions. Bike hire is available just along the road and the Moray Monster mountain biking trails are in easy reach by car.
Tours can be taken at the Windswept Brewing Company where their local craft beer can be sampled in the rustic tap room. At the Moray Golf Club golfers have the 18 hole ‘old course’ or equally picturesque 18 hole ‘new course’ to have a go at.
This area is known for its lovely beaches and Lossiemouth has the distinction of having two different beaches that are both in walking distance of the apartment. Its west beach is around 3 miles long and the east beach goes on even further than that!
Dolphins, seals and ospreys can often be spotted from the sands and fishing is either direct from the shore or in the River Lossie that flows into the sea here. For a closer encounter North 58° Sea Adventures has a base in Lossiemouth where they offer wildlife spotting boat trips along the picturesque coastline.
Elgin (5.5 miles) has a good range of shops and supermarkets as well as a beautiful ruined cathedral that is fascinating to wander around on a self-guided tour. The train can be taken from Elgin into Inverness in roughly 45 minutes for a day trip to the ‘capital of the Highlands’. On the way into Elgin keep an eye out for the service station where an ex-RAF jet can be seen sitting alongside the forecourt - a most unusual sight!
