This 130-year-old Highland Stone Cottage retains its authentic traditional character yet also benefits from its luxury modernisation. You’re welcomed into the open-plan lounge by a cosy log-burner with a beautiful stone wall behind. This area is the perfect space to relax, whether you’re using the cocktail shaker and recipe book to make your favourite beverage, choosing a book from the shelf and curling up next to the fire, or serving a hearty meal after a day exploring the beautiful Cairngorms. The dining area is ideal for gazing out the window while you eat your breakfast, and as Rowan Cottage is nestled in the enchanting pine forest of Inshriach, you’re likely to spot pine marten, red squirrels and woodpeckers just outside.
The king-size bedroom has luxury bedding and ample space for hanging clothes and storage. The back window in the bedroom offers an uninterrupted view of the forest behind, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. The bedroom is also ideal for sitting in the comfy chair and watching the array of wildlife come to the bird feeder just outside the window.
Rowan Cottage is serviced by a bathroom equipped with a shower, washing machine, tumble dryer and heated drying racks.
The garden area to the front and right of the cottage is for guests’ use, and while this isn’t closed off for dogs, the space is perfect for perching on one of the handmade larch benches and gazing at the ever-changing, uninterrupted skies.
External seating and a barbecue can be found in the summer house, along with safe storage for bikes and skis. Ample parking is available in the courtyard in front of the cottage.
