The area, known locally as Millness Croft, could be viewed as being in the 'middle of nowhere' yet it is within easy proximity (25 miles) of the vibrant city of Inverness, which has all the facilities expected from a modern bustling city. The nearby town of Drumnadrochit (10 miles) offers a good range of shops and services, with more local facilities, including a village shop being available just over 2 miles to the north in Cannich.
This pretty little cottage combines the best of the old and modern to create a perfect retreat amongst a wonderful, natural landscape of moor and farmland. Tastefully decorated with quality furnishings, the cottage comprises an open plan kitchen, dining and living area with an attractive wood-burning stove and natural wooden floors, a stylish double bedroom, modern bathroom and a useful utility/boot room.
Outside there is private parking and grassed area with a patio to sit and take in the wonderful views. Please note though, that whilst unlikely to be let by families, visitors should be aware that there is a steep bank behind the unfenced, grassed area, which leads to a small burn.
The cottage is within easy access of the Great Glen and its many tourist attractions including Loch Ness, probably the most famous loch in the world, which is just 10 minutes away. Also a short distance away is the National Nature Reserve of Glen Affric, reputed to be the most beautiful glen in Scotland, with remnants of the ancient Caledonian pine forest set in a landscape of outstanding beauty.
A host of rural sporting activities can be enjoyed in the surrounding area, from watching the abundant wildlife to walking and cycling, or fishing for salmon and trout on the local rivers and lochs. The choices for walking in the Highlands are vast with a wide variety of walks, from forest paths to the ever popular 'Munro bagging'. The nearby Great Glen Way is probably one of the most famed of the Scottish cycling routes and for a more extreme experience, there are mountain bike trails at Abrichan or the Balnain Bike Park (graded double black).
The Highlands boast many excellent golf courses and the surrounding area has over 20 courses within an easy drive, including the championship course at Nairn. Other popular day trips include Inverness Castle and the Caledonian Canal with the pretty village of Fort Augustus where you can enjoy a meal in one of the canal-side inns taking in the view of the boats as they pass through the amazing lock system.
