Howfordmill Stables sits in an idyllic location just outside of the charming village of Ettrickbridge. This former stable building has been completely restored, renovated and transformed into the perfect rural retreat. Just 7 miles south of Selkirk.
This stylishly designed two-bedroomed cottage offers a perfect blend of modern comfort and rustic charm and provides a bright and open space to relax and unwind. The comfortable living area flows seamlessly to the kitchen and dining areas with French doors leading on to decking where you can dine outside and enjoy the picturesque Ettrick countryside.
The stylish, integrated kitchen includes modern amenities including; cooker with ceramic hob, dishwasher, washer-dryer, microwave, cafetiere, a Bosch Tassimo coffee machine, and everything you could need for a comfortable self-catering holiday.
Both elegantly designed bedrooms can be arranged as either twin rooms or larger super king-sized offering flexibility for your stay. One of the bedrooms has French doors that open out on to the deck for added convenience, while the other has a large window, briming beautiful views of the Ettrick countryside.
The bathroom has been finished to the same high standard and includes a combined bath and shower for convenience, along with heated towel rails for added comfort.
Outside, guests can unwind in the large garden, complete with play area and sunken trampoline. There is a large, decked area with comfortable garden furniture, a barbeque and fire pit, so you can enjoy relaxing outside day or night.
There is enough space for two cars to fit comfortably nearby, there is a short walk to the cottage from here, with a convenient cart provided for transporting luggage and supplies.

Howfordmill Stables sits just outside Ettrickbridge, a quaint village nestled in the stunning Scottish Borders countryside. Steeped in history, this charming location offers a glimpse into the past with landmarks like Kirkhope Tower, a five-storey tower house built in the late 1500s and the stunning Bowhill house (5 miles).
Experience the tranquillity of Ettrickbridge as you stroll through its peaceful streets, admiring its picturesque setting along the banks of the Ettrick Water. Visit the Cross Keys, a welcoming pub at the heart of the village, offering a taste of local hospitality, live entertainment and excellent, hearty pub food, with a Scottish twist.

Selkirk is home to Sir Walter Scott’s Courtroom and Halliwell’s museum, which features a reconstruction of an Ironmonger's shop. Selkirk is also home to a host of shops and restaurants.
The larger town of Galashiels (13 miles) is home to the Great Tapestry of Scotland, you will also find a range of shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants in Galashiels and the independently owned multi-screen Pavillion Cinema. I mile outside of Galashiels, you can visit Abbotsford House, the home of Sir Walter Scott, or explore the stunning grounds and gardens on the banks of the River Tweed.
For mountain biking enthusiasts there are a host of options throughout the Scottish Borders region from downhill tracks at Innerleithen (17 miles) and Glentress (20 miles), to road and fire-track based trails such as the challenging Ettrickbridge & Yarrow cycling trail which is approximately 20 miles and reaches an elevation of 1,870ft.
For golfers there are a range of picturesque golf courses to choose from in the area from the Woll Golf Course in Selkirk to the Torwoodlee and Galashiels Golf Courses, to Cardrona, Peebles and Innerleithen courses further to the west.
Nature lovers will delight in the scenic beauty surrounding Ettrickbridge, with opportunities for leisurely walks along the riverbank, more adventurous hikes in the nearby hills or try a stretch of the Southern Upland Way which runs through the region.
