Guests will find it so inviting to curl up on the cosy seating around the open fire immediately on arrival but there is much more still to discover in the rest of the house. The dining kitchen has been kitted out well and is decorated in soothing tones throughout with French doors that lead out to the garden and showcase the wonderful view of the loch and mountains beyond.
In the two bedrooms upstairs there are handy zip-link beds so they can both be configured as either super king-size or twin beds for maximum flexibility. There is also a shower room and a contemporary bathroom with a large, walk-in shower and freestanding rolltop bath to have a nice long soak in.
Plenty of off-road parking is provided and out on the patio the table and seating have been perfectly positioned for taking in the loch vista. What could be more delightful than enjoying al fresco meals in good weather whilst admiring the light dancing on the water?
The scene on the loch is ever changing so there is always something of interest including wildlife such as seals, otters and dolphins along the estate’s 3 miles of loch frontage. Buzzards and golden eagles can also be seen in the skies above and a fortunate few may even manage to spot an impressive sea eagle!
Kayaking and canoeing can be tried out on the loch and there is plenty to explore right from the door as the estate extends to around 800 acres with rolling hills and woodland that are good places for walks or wildlife spotting. As there is so little light pollution, the dark skies in the evenings are ideal for star gazing.
In the village of Kentallen (1.5 miles) the houses are dotted around the side of the picturesque bay with an excellent restaurant that has a formal menu or more relaxed dining in the bar.

Anyone looking for a real challenge will want to tackle Scotland’s highest mountain Ben Nevis, which is reachable in under an hour’s drive. It takes about 7 or 8 hours to scale the peak (up and back) and appropriate clothing and footwear is an absolute must. The nearby Nevis Range resort is the place to go for snowboarding and skiing in season.
From Port Appin (13.5 miles) a passenger ferry runs over to the beautiful Isle of Lismore, taking just 10 minutes. This peaceful island has a very small population who enjoy a nice and relaxed way of life and, as the island is only 1 mile wide and 10 miles long, it is easy to explore on foot or by bike with lovely scenery to appreciate along the way. There is also a car ferry that runs from Oban and arrives within an hour.
Oban (28 miles) is a transport hub for the area with ferry services heading out to many other islands including Coll, Colonsay and gorgeous Tiree with its gorgeous white sandy beaches.
