'We have had the most amazing weather whilst Harris and have thoroughly enjoyed the all comforts of Sea View House with all of its unique artwork and we really appreciated the very well equipped kitchen. We have seen an otter from the cottage, porpoises, eagles, green shank, oystercatchers, curlew and a cuckoo who 'cockooed' on the telegraph pole behind the cottage daily! Our whole experience this week has been one of joy! Thank you. '
'We've had a wonderful week & really enjoyed our stay. Weather has been amazing, chilly but lots of sunshine and no rain! We can recommend a sea trip with Kenny on his boat Elieen Glass Rib Tours, also a delicious lunch at North Harbour Bistro. We loved Sea View House, it was warm, quirky and very well equipped. Thank you! '
'Firstly I would like to thank you for letting me stay. What a lovely home! I have been to Harris before a few times but this time I spent it soley on Harris and not all over the Outer Hebrides. St. Kilda was magical and the An Clisham horseshoe walk was amazing. I also had the Harris distillery tour and that was really good as well. Eating at the Bothy was lovely - proper fine dining food, and the Harris brewery food was also lovely with big portions. The wildlife was great and absolutely loved sitting with binoculars watching the birds from the window seat. Thank you so much. '
'What a wonderful holiday! Great location, full of wildlife and great proximity to the other islands. We explored Harris and its beautiful beaches, we also explored Uist as well as the surrounding islands - absolutely fantastic! Didn't see the otter every day, but he/she is definitely there. Greylags and their young everyday.'
'We had an absolutely wonderful week in beautiful Sea View House. Weather has been great and we have visited lots of gorgeous beaches & done lovely walks. The house is fantastically equipped, very comfortable and we have delighted in watching the weather, the tides, the views of the other islands and the wonderful wildlife from the comfort of the window seats. We have seen a wide variety of birdlife, including herons, great northern divers, and the charming oystercatchers. The highlight was the visits from the otters and we saw them from the house, fishing and playing in the bay! Our first visit to Harris, but we will definitely be back!'
'Thank you for a wonderful stay at Sea View House - we absolutely loved the house and all the beautiful decor and art. We have thoroughly enjoyed exploring Harris, and have felt the benefit of being so close to nature and escaping from the outside world - Sea View House is a very special place. We finally saw an otter in the bay on our last day which was such a treat. The weather has been mixed, we have had rain, wind and storms, but it all added to the moody atmosphere of the Isle. It's been such a great holiday, many thanks again. '
'We had such an amazing time, visiting Harris and South Lewis. The scenery is spectacular and the beaches fantastic. The weather was a bit mixed, but it didn’t spoil the time spent here. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see the otters, but we did see the biggest heron we’ve ever seen! The highlight must be Sea View House itself. It is amazing! The artwork and attention to detail is outstanding. All in all a brilliant week visiting these islands. Needless to say we will be back!'
'What an amazing spot for a family getaway. Enjoyed the amazing local beaches and our travel further afield to Hushinish beach. Kids loved the coastal walk to Rodel to see St. Clements church and they especially loved the the boat trip from Scalpay. The wildlife was amazing, highlight was the pair of golden eagles at the North Harris Observatory and a minke whale on the wildlife tour. The cherry on top was the sea eagle which appeared in the bay in front of the cottage after only being here for 1 hour! Will definitely be coming back'
'We have had a fantastic week here in this wonderful house in a glorious location. Sea View House has it all, we wanted for nothing and it is very well equipped! We were looking forward to seeing as much wildlife as possible and we were very lucky. As well as all of the birdlife we saw lots of seals, a golden eagle, and on our last afternoon we stood and watched otters in the loch by the local supermarket. A week to remember!''
'What a place! Sea View House has character, charm, comfort and views so impressive. Previous reviews have said it all and it's just fabulous with beaches wherever you turn. On the first day two white tailed eagles performed a stunning display above the house, a mere 50 yards high. A pair of otters have been seen daily in the bay in front of the house, feeding as the tide is on the rise. Croft 36 is exceptional for lunchtime snacks, fresh lobster and langoustine butteries have been our favourite. The supermarket is the hub of Leverburgh and the people are so friendly and helpful. The scenery, wildlife and food, particularly the shellfish, are what we came for and we were not served short. Thank you once again and I'm positive we will be back.'
'Such an amazing house and we have enjoyed our time here immensely. Having not visited the Islands for a few years it was so lovely to be back. Wildlife in abundance as others have previously noted, although the otters eluded us. A trip to St.Kilda was possibly the highlight of this holiday, we travelled with 'Sea Harris' from Leverburgh and the boat crew were extremely knowledgeable. Sadly we are leaving in the morning to go back to the real world, but coming to these islands has been a holiday for the soul.'
'We have had a great week here in this very special cottage on a very special island. Although getting late for the best of the machair, the wild flowers have been beautiful. We did the 2 hour boat trip from Leverborough and had at least 2 minke whales, loads of manx shearwaters, ganets, 2 boxies and 4 sea eagles. We've enjoyed a number of good walks in both north and south Harris and a meal at The Bothy was lovely. Thank you very much for allowing us to share this wonderful cottage with you'
'Lovely week, very restful. Fantastic views out of the cottage window with glimpses of the otter & porpoises. Highlights: Drove the Golden Road & saw the seal colony, Northon Temple walk, impossibly beautiful beaches, more porpoises, sea eagles at Northon and in Strond, paddleboarding at Luskentyre, walk to the lighthouse at Scalpay and even more porpoises! A really fantastic week!'
'What a wonderful cottage, in a wonderful location with stunning sea views on such a beautiful island! It’s been a week of otters, eagles, seals and lovely birds. The beaches have been amazing, turquoise waters, white sand and so many to explore. We also went for a day trip on the ferry from Leverburgh to Northern Uist which was brilliant. Lots of choice nearby for brilliant food and we love the fact that we were so close to the local facilities, to the shop, Harris, Brewery, and the Leverburgh ferry terminal, but in such a quiet location. We can’t wait to come back to Sea View House! '
'We had a wonderful time at Sea View House and would come back anytime. Very generously equipped and a beautiful view with many opportunities to observe animals. '
'It’s been wonderful to be back on Harris and we loved everything about Sea View House. The views are beautiful and everything is so comfortable. We enjoyed exploring old favourite spots like Rodel, a lovely walk with Eagles up in the hills and Scarista beach. We also found some new places to us such as South Lochs, which were remote and beautiful and felt a million miles from the world and its woes. Thanks for everything, we hope to return soon! '
'Thank you for a relaxing stay in this beautiful cottage. We enjoyed beach walks, a great walk to Rodel from the cottage (with eagle sightings!) and we can recommend the nearby Harris micro brewery (good beer, a lovely deli and great fish and chips). Thank you! '
'The perfect place to recuperate! Loved being at Sea View House despite the weather. Had some amazing sightings of eagles (including a pair fighting mid air), otters from the window seat in the kitchen, curlew, oystercatchers, heron, wren, blackbird, great northern divers, gannets, lapwings and dolphins. Thanks so much! '
'What a beautiful home. I love the hand painted wall murals and I'm going to go home and do something like it! I loved the wee seal and waking up to his beautiful brown eyes. Harris is breathtaking. It has been a joy to swim and walk and look upon these glorious beaches. The weather was unexpectedly fine and the wind blew the cobwebs away.'
'We have loved exploring South Harris, Berneray and North Uist from this beautiful cosy home. The local shop has everything you would need and the Harris Brewery is a real treat. We have fallen in love with the beaches - all stunning and so easy to reach from Sea View House. Loved sitting in the window seat and watching the sea birds in the changing light. '
