The Croft at Opinan Beach is a striking semi-detached property, expertly finished with stone, larch cladding and corrugated black iron, all nestled next to the sandy shores of Opinan Beach, offering unforgettable views on the brink of the west coast of Scotland. The Croft is truly spectacular and was even featured in the Royal Scottish Academy exhibition in 2025.
The utility room is furnished with a stainless-steel sink, a washing machine, and a fridge-freezer to save space. The hallway then leads to the neat shower room, equipped with a large walk-in shower and a double-headed shower head.
The polished concrete floors continue throughout the property and have underfloor heating to stay toasty. The fitted kitchen is well-equipped and includes a Quooker tap and a walk-in pantry, though the entire room is enhanced by beautiful views of the sea. Rest in the chaise lounge or in the attached snug sitting area (with a piano) and gaze out to unforgettable West Coast vistas. Also showcasing wonderful views, the dining table comfortably seats 6 guests. Plan out group adventures on the cloth OS map of Wester Ross. Open the large patio doors from the kitchen, which lead out to the riven stone patio, and perch in the outdoor seating, taking in the views and feeling the fresh sea breeze on your skin.
Also on the ground floor, there are two double rooms, both with king-size beds. A family bathroom conveniently lies between the two bedrooms. There is also a twin room upstairs with Velux windows looking towards the east.
The enclosed garden is great for resting while the dogs stretch their legs. Ample parking is outside the front door of The Croft.
Adjacent Opinan beach is truly a hidden gem on the West Coast, a beautifully serene sandy beach to explore with your loved ones and canine companions. Stroll a little further down the road to another sandy shore at Red Point Beach. After appreciating the extraordinary surroundings at The Croft, head into Gairloch (9 miles) for a variety of local amenities and attractions. Gairloch Beach also has beautifully golden sandy bays. Passed Gairloch Beach in Charlestown, take a whale cruise at Hebridean Whale Cruises and spot thousands of birds, sailing the open sea of the North Minch towards feeding grounds and travel routes of Whales and Dolphins.
Climb Ride Explore in Gairloch offers opportunities for paddleboarding, coasteering, canyoning, mountain biking, Munro bagging and in the winter, skiing and snowboarding lessons. You’ll never run out of new activities to get involved with during your stay at The Croft. Challenge yourself with Beinn Eighe, Liathach and Beinn Alligin or take a leisurely paddleboarding trip to spot seals, jellyfish, seabirds, or, if you’re lucky, porpoise and dolphins. Play a round at Gairloch’s Links Golf Club, then take a break in the Links Cafe/ Bar.
Explore beauty at Inverewe Gardens, which benefits from the effects of the Gulf Stream, providing a unique environment for a variety of rare species. Home to Scotland’s Big 5 wildlife and huge California redwoods.
Discover local history at Gairloch Museum or visit the Arctic Convoy Museum and discover how Loch Ewe played a key part in ‘one of the most daring Allied operations of World War II’. Head down to Shieldaig to the Falconry and try handling Owls, Buzzards, Hawks, Falcons and Eagles.
Stay near Shieldaig and try The Badachro Inn, which serves tasty food and drink accompanied by beautiful views from a sheltered bay on the shores of Loch Gairloch. For a fine-dining night of luxury, Shieldaig Lodge and their stunning Loch-view restaurant will not disappoint. The Black Pearl Creole Kitchen in Gairloch offers mouthwatering Caribbean and Creole dishes, or cosy in at The Old Inn, serving delicious and locally landed seafood.
