Overview

Seascape offers extraordinary views of Loch Gairloch and the Wester Ross coastline, making the perfect cosy base for exploring this magnificent part of the Scottish Highlands.

The open-plan living space means the wood burner in the lounge keeps the room toasty, while views stretch out onto the patio and across the water to Badachro. The kitchen, complete with a Rangemaster cooker, offers ample space for cooking hearty meals and wonderful westerly views over the water.

Depending on the season, guests can enjoy both an extra-comfy lounge and a sunroom, each making the most of the incredible vistas across Loch Gairloch.

The ground-floor double bedroom features a king-size bed, while upstairs you'll find a twin room and a master double bedroom, also with a king-size bed. All the bedrooms benefit from their own ensuite shower room or bathroom.

A large family shower room with an overhead shower is located on the ground floor. After magnificent walks along the western coastline, the spacious utility room provides a warm welcome, complete with a washing machine, tumble dryer, sink, fridge, freezer, pulley and plenty of storage space.

As well as enjoying adventures around the local area, guests can make use of binoculars, a telescope, books and games for relaxing indoors.

Outside, the large garden has outdoor furniture for relaxing and appreciating the serene surroundings of Wester Ross. There is ample parking available at the cottage.

Map & Local

Seascape is perfectly located for exploring Gairloch, the beautiful Wester Ross coastline and the towering Torridon Hills.

Just over a mile down the road is the centre of the picturesque village of Gairloch. The village is home to a 9-hole golf course, Gairloch Museum and Café, a canoe and kayak centre, a marine life centre with cruises, the Badachro Distillery and plenty of amenities.

Situated on the dramatic and rugged Wester Ross coastline, you'll have a myriad of beautiful beaches to explore during your stay. Big Sand Beach has wonderful sandy bays sheltered by Longa Island, while Red Point Beach (13.4 miles) is a popular secluded spot with views over to the Isle of Skye on clear days. The area is a hub for water sports, boat trips, wildlife watching, mountain climbing, fishing and coastal walks.

The Minch, the strait separating mainland Scotland from Lewis and Harris, provides habitat for magnificent marine life, including whales, dolphins, porpoises, seals, seabirds, basking sharks and even the occasional leatherback turtle and walrus.

Further along the coastline, you'll find more beautiful beaches at Poolewe, Aultbea and Laide. Mellon Udrigle Beach, just under 20 miles away, is renowned for its sandy bays and turquoise waters.

The world-famous Inverewe Garden and Estate in Poolewe showcases the effects of the Gulf Stream and offers the chance to see Scotland's ‘Big 5’ species: red squirrels, red deer, otters, seals and golden eagles. Nearby attractions include Wild Ewe Safaris, while Aultbea is home to the Russian Arctic Convoy Museum.

Gairloch has many excellent eateries, including the Myrtle Hotel with its restaurant, bar and café, and the seasonal Old Inn, which offers a welcoming pub atmosphere alongside delicious food and drink. The Badachro Inn (7.7 miles) offers memorable vistas of Loch Gairloch and fresh local seafood.

Explore the Beinn Eighe Nature Reserve (21 miles) or the famous Torridon mountain biking trails (32 miles). Hire a bike or e-bike to discover the area, or join Climb Ride Explore for activities including paddleboarding, canyoning and coasteering. For a quieter pace, Hillbillies' bookshop and café is perfect for a bit of downtime. The city of Inverness is 70 miles away from your base at Seascape.
