Glentress

Wonderful scenery

Known as one of the best mountain biking centres in Europe, Glentress has a reputation which has spread far and wide. Situated 4 miles east of Peebles in the Scottish Borders, it has an excellent café, bike shop and hire centre, showers and changing facilities.

It offers lots of singletrack of all grades with a skills area for beginners and excellent Green and Blue Routes. The Red Route includes the famous Spooky Wood descent, while the Black Route at 30km long and with an 800 metre climb is an epic ride into the depth of the forest.

As well as its excellent trails, Glentress provides many other facilities which help make a great day out. In the heart of the bike park you will find the Glentress Peel Café which offers snacks, drinks, and cooked meals served in a friendly atmosphere. Next to it is the Alpine Bikes mountain bike shop where you can buy almost anything bike related including a vast range of bikes for full or half day hire. Tag alongs, trailers and small childs bikes are available for younger members of your party and hardtail or full suspension demo bikes are available for adults. The shop also offers a map that shows all the trails which will certainly prove to be money well spent.

Glentress is a dog friendly park that offers many forest walks for you and your four legged friend.
