Thatched Cottages
Thatching was one of the first roofing methods to be used in Scotland with straw, heather and even reeds being used as materials. Today there are only around 300 thatched buildings left in the country, a lot of which are situated on the west coast and its outlying islands.
These that are an important part of Scotland’s heritage and as only a few are available as holiday lets, our chocolate box thatched cottages make excellent bases from which to explore the beautiful surrounding scenery.
