08-Jun-2025	Easter Harden Cottage DP6 (overall)	The cottage is a lovely cottage spacious and its situated in beautiful surroundings with wonderful views. Ideal if you’re wanting some peace and quiet and to relax. There are walks straight from the cottage, it’s totally enclosed should you take your dog. You have already paid an extra amount towards the heating when booking then you have the faff of reading the meters and leaving the cash before you leave. ( you are made aware of this when booking) Maybe just up the price you pay for the cottage originally. You are also not made aware of when you book that you have to take your domestic waste and recycling to the bins on the stretch of road at the bottom which is quite a trek if you were walking. The owners have staff working for them so maybe they could arrange for you ito leave your rubbish at the other side of the cattle grid and they could take it in the trailer attached to the quad. This not something you expect to have to do when on holiday. The cottage is very nice these and would stay again if certain aspects were altered.

07-Jun-2025	Cottage by the Shore EZ4 (overall)	This is our second stay at the cottage. It’s a lovely cottage in a great location. It’s still good value for money despite the hefty, above inflation, price hike from last year. If we return to the area we would stay here again. However, we won’t be returning to the area until there has been investment into the tourist infrastructure. All the main local walking trails are either closed or heavily restricted. Some have been waiting for repairs for years.
07-Jun-2025	Waverley DN9 (overall)	Whilst the overall booking process was good, the cottage itself was below standard and seems to have been so for some time (judging by previous reviews) and this is something that I would expect Unique Cottages (as the letting agent) to have addressed. Also, it appears that by having 5 adults in the property (which we were able to book through Unique Cottages), we were actually in breach of the property's Short-Term Let Licence (which states a maximum occupancy of 4, excluding children under 10). Again, this is something I would expect Unique Cottages to be aware of and to have processes in place to prevent. I also wonder at how often (if ever) Unique Cottages visit properties to check that all Short-Term Let Licence requirements are being fulfilled and that equipment (especially safety equipment such as fire extinguishers and smoke alarms) and documentation (e.g. Gas-Safe certificate, PAT testing certificate) are in place, as key documentation was not available at Waverley and the fire extinguisher should have been replaced in 2010!!
