The name is absolutely accurate - Seaview Cottage occupies a commanding position on the hill above the harbour in the fishing port of Banff on the Moray coast, just 5 minutes' walk away from a beautiful sandy beach.

The owners are well versed in creating a successful holiday homes and they have worked their magic again here at Seaview. The traditional white and blue exterior reflects respect for the old fisherman's cottage it once was and this care has extended to the interior, where modern comforts combine with carefully retained features such as the stripped wood latched doors.
It's remarkably spacious too. The smart dining kitchen has lots of space for the plentiful appliances and a gas stove as well. The sitting room has an electric stove and there is also an small, attractive sun room to the rear which opens on to the shared garden.
Upstairs are two large bedrooms and a good-sized shower room. Some of the doorways in the cottage are slightly lower than average, so taller guests may have to mind their heads!
Everything has been decorated and furnished to form a light and airy feel, the bright white decor offset by splashes of vibrant colour in the furnishings, a most happy marriage of taste and comfort.
A visit to explore the wonderful stretch of sand and shingle beach is sure to be the first thing on the agenda. It is a great place to enjoy a stroll or simply relax in the sunshine and is also a popular spot with surfers.
The harbour cannot fail to be a constant source of interest to visitors, but the town does have other charms - plentiful shops and eating places, many fine old houses and a museum donated by Andrew Carnegie. Duff House was designed by William Adam in 1730 and is one of the finest classical houses in Scotland. It serves a cultural purpose too as an outpost of the National Gallery of Scotland.
Banff stands at the mouth of the River Deveron, a famous fishing river and also has a Championship Golf course, so sporting pursuits are well catered for. The Bridge of Alvah over the river is a famous beauty spot.
Inland, you have vast tracts of heather moorland to explore on foot, or head for the Whisky Trail - it is perhaps best to take an abstinent driver along with all that sampling you'll be doing! The coastline here is also famous not just for the disproportionate amount of sunshine it enjoys but also for the charming little fishing villages strung out along it and its numerous magnificent beaches. A further advantage of the cottage is that it is accessible by public transport.
