Peebleshire

Peebleshire is a delightful county in the central Scottish Borders, stretching from near Biggar in the east and near Moffat in the south, into the Pentland Hills in the north and abutting Selkirkshire in the east. In the north, West Linton is a pretty conservation village, handily placed for Edinburgh, while still being very rural and surrounded by moorland excellent for walking.

A Beautiful Area to Explore

Peebles, the county town, is beautifully situated on the banks of the Tweed and is quite charming, with excellent shops and eating places. Just outside the town are dramatic Neidpath Castle and Traquair House, the oldest continually occupied house in Scotland. The Southern Upland Way runs past it and just outside Peebles are the highly regarded Glentress Mountain Biking trails and a major downhill trail at Innerleithen.
