The Beach House at Belhaven is perfectly situated with the beach at the front door and the Winterfield golf course at the back! The chalet is just 50 metres from the shore on the outskirts of Dunbar in south east Scotland.

Simply but comfortably furnished, The Beach House is kept warm and cosy by double-glazing and electric heating. There is a light and bright open plan living area with a comfortable seating area (with bed settee), neat kitchen area and handy dining area alongside.
The bedroom has beds that can be set up as either a double or two twin beds and there is a shower room that completes the indoors accommodation.
Outside, the chalet stands in a small enclosed garden, with a patio area to the rear and a verandah to the front.
There are superb views out over the sea to the Bass Rock, while in the foreground there is the 'bridge in the sea', which at high tide just sits there in the middle of the water!
Belhaven Bay is part of the John Muir Country Park and there is a coastal walk which takes the visitor into Dunbar (with all facilities, leisure pool, castle and harbours). Across the 'bridge in the sea', the surfing can be good at mid to high tide.
With Edinburgh only 30 miles away and readily accessible by train from Dunbar, the Beach House is an excellent centre from which to explore the area.
On the coast there is Dirleton Castle, with its lovely gardens and spectacular Tantallon, clinging to its clifftop perch. Also near Dirleton (15 miles) there are the prestigious championship golf courses at Muirfield and Luffness, not to mention a number of gourmet restaurants, where you can replace the pounds lost earlier in the day!
North Berwick (14 miles) is well worth a visit and perhaps a walk up Berwick Law, the conical hill which dominates the town. From North Berwick too it is possible to take a boat trip to see the nesting seabirds on the Bass Rock - where you can spend some time ashore - and Fidra Island. For keen walkers, Cockburnspath at the beginning of the Southern Upland Way is only 8 miles away.

'Lovely and enjoyable as always. We’ve watched diving gannets and cormorants, seals, dolphins or porpoise, the list goes on. Discovered Cove Harbour, hidden away, like going back in time.'
'Another great break at the Beach House despite the wet weather. The stormy waves that met us on arrival soon settled down! Planned ahead this time and booked a tour around Torness Power Station – well worth a visit and very interesting. Do take the chance to walk around the headland there and admire the sea defences'
'Another fantastic stay at the Beach House. Everything here is absolutely perfect. This is our second stay here and booked for June next year for two weeks. Our two dogs couldn’t have been more at home here and lots of lovely walks on the beach. Thank you so much for opening your door to us, it’s a heavenly stay for us all. Counting down to next stay.'
'We have had such a lovely week here and were lucky that the good weather continued up until our final day. We have seen castles and beautiful gardens, towns and harbours and done some amazing walks. Lots to do on the doorstep in the lovely weather.'
'Amazing weather all week, full on sunshine. Beautiful bight skies. On Monday evening a basking shark was seen in the Bay, caused some excitement. Each time we come there is always something new to find. Lovely flowers and ale, a welcome touch, thank you. We look forward to returning again.'
'We’ve had a fabulous week staying at the Beach House. The chalet was well appointed, clean and homely. The weather was kind to us, great location and stunning sunsets. Our elderly Labrador thoroughly enjoyed his holiday.'
'Another wonderful week at the Beach House. Saw the seals on the rocks this time. Weather good all week, great sunsets. We will be back again. Thank you.'
'Our first time here with our fur babbies. What a fantastic holiday. The dogs loved the beach and so handy. The Beach Hut is a fantastic place and everything you could ask for is here for you. Very comfortable and clean.'
