The Isle of Lewis is famed for its beautiful pristine beaches, and the stunning Cliff Beach does not disappoint.

Stock up on groceries at the Uig Community Shop in Timsgarry, just 3.5 miles away, where you will also find the nearest post office. The nearest supermarkets can be found in Stornoway, 33 miles away, where you will find restaurants and pubs.

If you enjoy golfing there is a picturesque game to be found at Stornoway Golf Course. If fishing is more your scene, the sea is right on your doorstep. There is also a stream close to the cabin where you will find trout, though this can dry up in the summer months.

The Isle of Lewis is a magnificent place to explore by bike, with many routes and trails to choose from such as the Pentland Road, a single-track tarmac road that stretches from Stornoway to Carloway on the west side of Barvas Moor, offering a unique perspective on its vastness. From Carloway, explore attractions like the Iron Age broch, the Norse Mill at Shawbost, the standing stones of Calanish, and numerous stunning beaches along the west coast.

Open water swimming is a real treat in the pristine waters of the Outer Hebrides. There are instructors who can guide you through the essentials of open-water swimming in the area’s lochs and shores or try a snorkelling tour to fully immerse yourself in the crystal-clear waters of the Atlantic coast.

The wildlife that calls this home include sea otters and red deer, gannets and golden eagles to name but a few. If you enjoy birdwatching, the Machair habitat is popular with many species. Spring welcomes the arrival of corncrakes and breeding waders, while in winter, large gatherings of geese, lapwing, and golden plover flock to this area.
