Overview

‘Machair’ is a Gaelic word that describes the unique habitat characterised by low-lying grassy, sandy plains. Found solely along the exposed northwestern coastline of Scotland and the west of Ireland, it is one of the rarest in Europe.

The Tràigh Na Clibhe, or Cliff Beach is a stunning, north-facing bay that opens to the Atlantic, with white sand and crystal-clear water, surrounded by some of the tallest cliffs on the Isle of Lewis.

This perfectly formed, luxury cabin strikes a contemporary design, with exceptional attention to detail throughout. The porthole windows and door perfectly frame the spectacular views, like a captivating work of art.

The innovative design makes excellent use of the space, with separate sleeping and living quarters, offering comfortable accommodation for up to four guests. The cabin includes an open plan living space, two bedrooms and a bathroom.

The living space comprises of a stylish kitchen area, which is cleverly separated from the living area, with a breakfast bar style, high table. The kitchen is fitted out with everything you could need for your stay, including a dishwasher and washing machine. When it’s time to relax, cosy up on the comfy sofa and enjoy the view.

Bunk beds have been built into the end of one of the cabin’s bedrooms, with a separate double bedroom featuring a comfortable king-size Emma mattress. There is a stylish shower room for added convenience.

Outside, you can relax on the patio, enjoy evening meals on the picnic bench and make memories while enjoying the magnificent sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean. This is also a prime position for storm watching in the winter months.

This cosy cabin is a perfect base for you Outer Hebridean adventures. After a day of exploring the Isle of Lewis, you can relax in stylish comfort while enjoying the most magnificent views.

Cliff Beach has a strong undercurrent and is unsuitable for swimming, however, due to the shape of the bay, it is popular with experienced surfers and bodyboarders with breaks up to 12 feet (3.7 meters).

Machair is the perfect beach holiday for families, with endless hours of fun in the white sand right on your doorstep. With its breathtaking scenery and luxury accommodation, it is the perfect romantic getaway for couples. Whatever brings you to Cliff Beach, you will leave with lasting memories.
