With both a charming, coastal setting with amazing sea views and a stylish and comfy interior, Rowantree really has it all. This detached house overlooks Loch Ewe, a sea loch in one of the most picturesque parts of Scotland’s west coast, near Aultbea (2.5 miles) in Wester Ross.

Inside, the wood-burning stove at the heart of the sitting room creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere with cosy seating beside it to enjoy it from. The spacious kitchen/dining room area is open plan with a huge central island that provides useful extra food preparation space.
From the dining area wonderful views can be enjoyed due to large French doors alongside that open out onto the deck and flood the room with light. A handy utility room that houses the laundry facilities supplements the kitchen.
Everything is laid out all on the one level with the master double bedroom having a colourful and modern en suite shower room with a lovely walk-in shower. There is also a second double bedroom and an attractive twin room that is ideal for children or adults alike.
The raised deck in the garden is a great place to sit and take in the beautiful views and really appreciate the peace and quiet, perhaps with a cuppa in the morning or an al fresco lunch or dinner. It is just a short stroll down to the rocky shore of the loch for some fishing or wildlife spotting.
Parents should be advised that there is a small natural pond in the garden, so care should be exercised with very young children.
Aultbea (2.5 miles) has a few little shops for basic supplies or supermarket shopping can be done in Gairloch. Pleasant walking paths meander through Laide Wood just outside Aultbea with benches positioned in the best spots for taking in the scenery.
In Gruinard Bay (9.5 miles) there is a delightful long stretch of sandy beach that is the perfect place for a relaxing walk no matter what the weather. Seals like to frolic on the sands and there is usually a good range of birdlife to spot as well.
Poolewe (9.5 miles) is a small, scenic village that is mainly known as being the home of Inverewe Gardens. Some of the plant life in the gardens are quite unusual for Scotland but this area has the benefit of being warmed by the Gulf Stream so many more exotic plants and trees are able to thrive.
The estate surrounding the gardens is a haven for wildlife with the chance to spot Scotland’s ‘big 5’ – red squirrels, otters, red deer and even golden eagles.
About half an hour’s drive brings you to Gairloch (15 miles) where a 9 hole golf course nestles amongst the dunes and wildlife cruises head out to allow for an up close look at some of the native local species in their natural habitats.
