SeaShore House is set in its own enclosed, dog friendly garden with direct access to the shores of Loch Ewe. A beautiful deck with outside seating means you can while away the hours gazing at the ever-changing views and wildlife. Whilst at the front of the house another deck, covered by an attractive pergola, is set with a large table and chairs, providing a wonderful spot for a relaxing al fresco breakfast or special dinner. However, it is only on going inside that it is possible to appreciate that the high quality accommodation on offer is quite equal to its splendid situation.
The open plan living area with its polished wood floor, wood burning stove, stylish furnishings, enormous windows and glass doors, give a great feeling of light and space and enable guests to appreciate the wonderful seascape before them. There is also a small snug room, equipped with a flat screen TV that provides the perfect place to relax or play!
Also downstairs are two double bedrooms, both with glass doors to the outside decking area (so you can admire the view away to Ewe Island in the bay and Lewis beyond without even getting out of bed!) and upstairs are two further bedrooms with coombed ceilings. There are three luxurious bath or shower rooms, two of which are ensuite.
With a peaceful, beautiful situation and superbly appointed accommodation, there is nothing left to wish for at SeaShore House.
Aultbea is a fishing village which was a naval base in World War Two and many interesting remains of the old buildings can still be seen (and all around the shores of Loch Ewe). There is still a small NATO base a few miles down the loch today, with the occasional ship coming in to refuel.
The village has a hotel and a general store so most needs will be well catered for.
It also offers quiet sandy beaches lapped by the warm waters of the Gulf Stream, where there are a host of shore birds and where dolphins are frequent visitors.
Fine walks can be enjoyed in the Laide woods, or for something more strenuous, the famous Torridon mountains are within easy distance. There is good fishing to be had in the nearby lochs and rivers. The popular village of Gairloch (14m) offers boat trips, a delightful 9 hole golf course, a range of great cafes, more beaches and a new CoOp store for stocking up and on the way are the famous subtropical gardens at Inverewe.
